I was diagnosed with Influenza A and am a lifelong asthmatic. On day 9 I was told to go to the ER by the doctor on call for my primary care provider as all homecare had been exhausted and there was concern of possible respiratory failure. Dr. McIntyre gave me three breathing treatments in 2.5 hours never asking when I had done the last one at home. I asked to go to the restroom. I was not offered a wheelchair even though I was still struggling to breathe. I found out that was because Dr. has ordered they "take me for a walk to see how I do" When I asked about the prednisone he had discussed earlier, his response was he was going to order it but the nurse said I got "weepy" when it was mentioned so he didn't. He told me he couldn't "fix" me but the x-ray was clear of pneumonia, told me to follow up with my Dr in the next 2-3 days and sent me home. Absolutely zero confidence in his medical assessment. Already have appt with my primary doctor for this morning and still wheezing.

My experience with Dr. McIntrye was not a good one. He is condescending and arrogant and not all that competent. I will never go to emergency if he is on duty. I will go across town instead. I don't trust him.
