Dr. Steven Salvatore, DO

I first had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Salvatore as he was the physician performing my physical exam and blood testing while undergoing treatment with a certain extended-release buprenorphine suspension administered by way of subcutaneous injection for the continued maintenance treatment of Opioid Use Disorder at Victory Recovery Group in Farmingville, NY. Dr. Salvatore made me feel very comfortable right off the bat, plus he was very funny and had a sharp wit to boot! After informing him that I would like him to add some additional tests onto my blood work to check on my testosterone and estradiol levels (as I suffer from primary hypogonadism, more commonly known as 'low T' and have to intramuscularly inject exogenous testosterone cypionate once a week) m, he went out of his way to actually offer to write up prescriptions for my testosterone if my endocrinologist or pharmacy ever gives me a hard time about it since it is technically a controlled substance. So kind of him to offer.

worst dr I have ever seen, ever. I went in for pain in my calf/ankle and inability to walk or drive. I wanted to be sent for an mri. He squeezed my calf and said you don’t have any blood clots, no torn calf muscle and your Achilles is intact. “I am not sending you for an mri if I did they would say what dummy dr approved this” . He told me he wouldn’t charge me for the visit since I was misinformed at the front desk about the mri. He wouldn’t provide me with a copy of the notes from the visit.
