Great Doctor
I've been operated on many times in my life. In early 2023, I started having numbness in my arm, for no apparent reason. I went to 2 different orthopedic surgeons and had numerous epidurals, none of which helped. A friend (who's a physician), recommended I see Dr. Spitz. I met with him a few times, he diagnosed my issue, clearly explained and laid out his recommendation, we made a plan to operate, and almost immediately following, the pain started to go away. Dr. Spitz and his team are exemplarily. They are attentive and easy to talk to and quite frankly, a great medical team.I hope no one ever needs a neurosurgeon, but if you do, Dr. Spitz should be 1st on your list.

My angel
After many years of back pain and burning in my legs from scoliosis diagnosed when I was 18, and facing a future that included being wheelchair bound, my primary doctor sent me to Southeastern Neurological Associates and Dr. Stephen Spitz. From the first visit I was sure God had sent me to the right man. Dr. Spitz reviewed my case in the utmost detail and presented us with a comprehensive plan to address the issues as well as listening to and answering all my questions and concerns. It has been a year since Dr. Spitz performed 2 back surgeries in 3 days, and while it was a difficult recovery I am happy to say I am pain free and now see a future laughing and planning with my grandkids. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Spitz, his PA Savanna, and the entire staff. They have been there for us every moment, answering our questions and cheering us on. If you have spine issues, I highly recommend Dr. Spitz and his staff. They have been my angels.

Extremely talented neurosurgeon!
I have had 34 surgeries & one pending (with Dr. Spitz) so I have a fair amount of experience going under the knife. Dr. Spitz performed a 3-level ACDF on my cervical spine last Sep 2022. Three months later my pain level was reduced by 85% - excruciating pain that I had suffered for 27 years! That was my 12th surgery to my spine by several neurosurgeons. I rate Dr. Spitz the most skilled, diligent & caring surgeon I've ever seen. On 14 Mar 23,Dr. Spitz will perform a very complicated lumbar spine repair (my 10th surgery of this type - the first by Dr. Spitz). I am completely confident the result will very significantly reduce the immeasurable amount of pain I've been experiencing since I was run over by a fleeing felon (I was a Deputy Sheriff in Columbus, Ohio) at 85 mph in 1978.

Amazing And Compassionate Surgeon
If you are in need of a neurosurgeon&have the opportunity to be treated by Dr. Spitz, do not hesitate. He is, by far, the best you will find. Not only are his skills second to none, he is the most caring, diligent, & compassionate surgeon I have ever had the privilege to meet. He is my 79-year old Dad's neurosurgeon & he is absolutely incredible! My Dad is not an easy patient, by any definition & his case was very complicated & challenging...every doctor we saw before we met Dr. Spitz were not willing to even try treating him due to his age & issues with his spine. But, Dr. Spitz listened to my Dad & his desires for help & was the first doctor to give him HOPE in years. The way he treated my Dad was so impressive.Dad was able to stand upright for the first time in years.Dad had some complications later, which were not due to anything related to Dr. Spitz's work, but Dr. Spitz rushed to his aid. He made Dad & me feel like Dad was his one & only patient. He's truly incredible.

I've had 34 surgeries, so I have encountered MANY physicians offices and surgeons. The staff that is assembled at Dr. Spitz office is, quite simply, second to none. They are all amazingly friendly, and TRULY have passion for what they do and compassion for those for whom they provide treatment. I've also never waited more than 5 minutes to be back seeing the clinical team for an appointment. I've not had my surgery yet, and it is a complicated revision surgery, but he took time to figure out the right process on how to tackle the surgery rather than it being rushed. He explained it to me thoroughly. I would recommend them to ANYONE (in fact, my son just scheduled an appointment)!

Dr. Spitz did an extensive procedure on my dad's lower spine. He could barely walk before surgery, and after a nine hour procedure, feels much better. He is 2 months post op and reports no lingering pain. The doctor and his office staff are friendly , caring and communicate well with their patients.

After extensive radiological evaluation demonstrated multiple points of spinal stenosis, Dr. Spitz performed 2 operations: a cervical laminoplasty and a T-8 laminectomy. The two months later a minimally invasive lumbar laminectomy. I am so happy with the results. He obviously is an incredibly skilled surgeon as well as a compassionate care-giver with terrific communication skills. He has also assembled a wonderful support/office staff. If you require neurosurgery, place your trust with Dr. Steven Spitz!!!

Dr. Spitz is an incredibly talented neurosurgeon with a wonderful bedside manner. He performed a 4 level cervical spine ACDF on me, and the results were fantastic. I only had mild muscle pain after the surgery. You can tell that Dr. Spitz loves and has a passion for what he does as well! I would highly recommend him!

I couldn't walk for 2 weeks prior to having Dr. Spitz perform my L5/S1 Discectomy. Now, I am 2 weeks post-op and I feel better then I have in years. I can walk, sit, stand, and even shower standing up. And the best part, get this, I can now put my underwear on standing up. Thank you Dr. Spitz.
