Dr. Steven Swengel, MD

I went to go see Dr. SWINDLE for help with cosmetic issues on my legs. When I was getting the cosmetic procedure, it was so painful, that I nearly hyperventilated. Instead of stopping and calming me down, he said “You were hyperventilating so much, I nearly put a PAPER BAG OVER YOUR HEAD!” After, I developed severe bruising, and was left with severe hyperpigmentation. I voiced my concern to the office, and Dr. Swengel verified that there was a problem with the procedure. He suggested additional treatments to mitigate his mistakes. Today, I came in for my 3rd treatment. He had been pointing out my other existing scars on my legs every session, and this time, he proceeded to do that again. He said, “What I don’t understand is, why you’re so obsessed with these minor scars [that I caused], but you already have these HORRIBLE PURPLE SCARS ALL OVER YOUR LEGS?” He brushed off his mistakes, because I have pre-existing conditions. He should NOT be practicing medicine, this is malpractice.

He’s the ONLY dermatologist for me!

I first came to see Dr. Swengel for acne treatments in my early 30s. I now do a variety of preventive treatments with Dr. Swengel and i've never felt more confident and informed about my skin and skin health in general. When you come in the office it feels like a spa -- everyone is friendly and you really feel as if they have your best interest in mind. I have been a patient of Dr. Swengel since he was treating at Santa Teresa Kaiser, I may have been 8yrs old -about 40yrs ago. I came in for a series of laser treatments with Dr.Swengel. A couple names to point out are Roxy and Luis. They both are so friendly and nice when it came to all the questions I had. Dr.Swengel really took the time to explain which treatments would be the best for my skin type and concerns. I highly recommend this office for all Dermatology issues. I love refined dermatology!

Dr Swengel and staff go above and beyond! I started coming to him for dermatology first. I commute from Santa Cruz to see him. Besides them having a flexable schedule to work with my busy work schedule, they got me in asap. I had a mole that looked suspicious and my old derm said they could see me in 8 weeks. Ive heard about Dr S for a few years and finally made the call.Needless to say Ive been a patient for 3 years now, and I have never been happier with a Dr's office ever!

Dr. Swengel was able to help me after I got a problem from a different clinic. His skill with assessing problems and treatments and injections is unsurpassed. He is also comforting and personable so that the process is not stressful. I highly recommend him.

Awesome staff! Beautiful office and Excellent Doctor. I have been to many Dermatologists over the last 15 years but Refined Dermatology is by far the best whether its for medical or cosmetic procedures. I will never go elsewhere. I originally came for tattoo removal and have received the best results after just one treatment here then my 11 treatments elsewhere. I will continue as a patient as long as he's here.
