Dr. Steven Teynor, MD

I saw Dr Teynor for a number of years. If you want to put up with his quirks he is ok. Often times he would get off on a tangent of his own, especially about American health care systems. I often listened to his travel logs about skiing in Europe. He refuses to have a telephone in his office even with his receptionist so he doesn’t have to deal with immediate situations. I don’t know what happens if you have an emergency. Absences are never forgiven no matter what your excuse is. The session that he threw out the total F* bomb four times I decided to find someone else. He can treat mental illness but to me , he needs some counseling on what is professional and appropriate. His use of foul language was quite traumatic for me. Those of his profession should help not harm. When I called him out on this he excused himself by saying “I have quite a potty mouth at home. “ Inexcusable to me.

Although the staff was friendly I am very dissapointed with Dr. Teynor. I left feeling even worse than when I came in.

He's generally good when he's good but when he's not it's kind of problematic. He helped reverse some problematic bipolar treatments I was working through but despite it not being my fault, he constantly go on me about being late when I was with my parents that couldn't be on time to save their lives. I do have to fault him for not seeing the trauma that a little bit of prodding would reveal and he is adamant that one cannot be healthy with alters so I left him immediately

Dr. Teynor is extremely knowledgable regarding diagnosis and medication management. He is easy to talk to, professional, compassionate and direct. He is incredibly helpful - an outstanding psychiatrist in all respects.
