Dr. Stewart Ramey, MD

Dr. Ramey treated my siblings & I our entire lives until we were too old to see him anymore! When the question arose of who would be my son’s doctor, there was only 1 answer. My brother felt the same. He’s now my nephews’ & my son’s pediatrician! He’s even who pierced my ears when I was a little girl. He’s extremely knowledgeable, patient, & understanding. His nurse, Erica, is the perfect counterpart to him, as well. His previous nurse, Mrs. Brenda, left some mighty shoes to fill & I firmly believe nobody but Erica could be as extraordinary! They’re both very kind & great listeners. They’ve been more than patient with me & my neurotic take on being a 1st time mom. I couldn’t imagine trusting anyone else with my son or nephews’ wellbeing. They’re considered family to us!

Dr. Ramey has been our pediatrician for 17 years. He takes his time, asks questions, and explains everything thoroughly. He is one of the best in Baton Rouge.

The children and now grandchildren in our family have been patients of Dr. Ramey's for almost 30 years. He is an exceptional Doctor who is very thoughtful and thorough in his treatment process. Dr. Ramey, is one of the absolute best Pediatricians in Baton Rouge.

Patient, thorough and takes time to discuss and explain anything we have questions about. Dr. Ramey is old-school, we never feel rushed at appts with our two boys. We’re always able to get same day appointments and our toddler loves him and is often excited to go see Dr. Ramey!

Dr. Ramey misdiagnosed, or completely missed, my young child’s acute, urgent infection that was causing severe pain and distress. The infection was properly diagnosed days later by a different doctor in the Baton Rouge Clinic, who confirmed the condition would have caused severe pain and that my child urgently needed surgery to remedy the condition. On top of incorrectly assessing my child’s condition, Dr. Ramey’s behavior toward me was brusque, dismissive and lacking in compassion. I will actively avoid having any of my children treated by Dr. Ramey in the future.

Dr Ramey ask a lot of questions to diagnose me. He ordered necessary tests I try to determine what my issues are.

We have seen Dr. Ramey for the past 22 years. He has been a wonderful pediatrician for our 3 children. Very kind and knowledgeable. We hate to leave him but the kids are now young adults and must move on. Highly recommend.

Seemed as if he wanted to be elsewhere. He is stiff and cold with children which made the visit more difficult.

Dr Ramey has been the PCP For all 3 of my sons for over 20 years. He practices science based medicine and is not an over prescribed for antibiotics. He is wonderful with his patients as well as their parents. He is honest and helps navigate medical decisions while providing autonomy to his patients.

We have seen Dr. Ramey for over 25 years between our four kids, and we love him. So attentive and helpful and good at putting kids at ease. We highly recommend him!

Very knowledgeable and accommodating. Goes above and beyond for his patients. Very easy to talk to. Sometimes it’s hard to understand medical stuff, but Dr. Ramey always takes his time to answer your questions, explain things, and make sure that you truly understand what’s going on.

We have seen Dr. Ramey several times and he is very polite and knowledgeable. He is not our primary doctor but he always listens to all my concerns.

Dr Ramey is my least fav doctor to see at the clinic. He doesn’t really listen to the concerns you have about your child or there history. My daughter went in with an abscess that needed to be drained. He was more concerned about the betadine that had splashed on his newly painted wall then he was about my kid. Also after asking about the antibiotic she was placed on etc. I had to come back Monday and see my actually pediatrician to get a culture and new antibiotic.

I took my daughter for her ADHD recheck and her regular pediatrician was out. The day before her appt she starting feeling bad. I mentioned it and Dr. Ramey listened to her breath. He said she has a cold. By Saturday she was worse and I had to take her to an Urgent Care where they said she had an upper respiratory infection and gave her antibiotics. I explained her history of smoke induced asthma & that she had just come back from her dads who smokes. It’s frustrating to have to turn around and pay $200 more dollars to someone else a couple of days later because he wasn’t very thorough with her.

We were seen 45 minutes after our scheduled 6:00 PM appointment time. While I understand that healthcare providers are often on tight schedules, it was frustrating to sit in an empty waiting room and to have an appointment that was running so far behind schedule. Additionally, my son was seen for two enlarged ‘bumps’ on the back of his neck. The doctor contradicted himself by first saying that there was nothing enlarged, his lymph nodes were not swollen, and then he said that it is probably just the base of his skull. When asked to further explain himself and to discuss why his skull seems to suddenly appear enlarged and protruding, he stated that it was because of swollen lymph nodes. Yet he had just stated that his lymph nodes were not swollen. If he was unsure of what he was seeing, I would have preferred an honest answer rather than providing a contradicting statement. Dr. Ramey treats my son for ADHD. He is very thorough with his exams and his explanations of treatment. He is genuine and relates well with my son. I know he cares about my son’s wellbeing and wants the best for him. He listens intently to any concern I or my son may have. I am very thankful that Dr. Ramey is my son’s doctor.

Dr. Ramey has been our pediatrician with 3 boys for 19 years now. He is friendly, on time with appointments and most importantly practices evidence based Medicine. He is conservative and very attentive. My children are very comfortable with him and he answers their questions with respect.

We love doctor Ramey! He was my pediatrician and practically saved my life identifying a rare food poisoning to other pediatricians missed. It’s refreshing having my son in his hands!
