Dr. Subramanya Shastri, MD

Not every plastic/reconstruction surgeon is good at all surgeries, but I can highly recommend him for abdominoplasty. He doesn't just take off hanging skin. He also repairs the muscles, which need to be repaired if you want to keep a nice, flat abdomen. My surgery was in 2005, and is still tight. He also does excellent reconstruction on arms or legs, but please be sure to remind him to "taper" the arms and legs. He has done many surgeries on me, but these are where I believe his strong suits are. I recommend him to many people for these particular surgeries.

As a patient and fellow health care provider, I was strongly encouraged by fellow healthcare workers whom have worked alongside Dr. Shastri and/or have had procedures by him, to go to no one else but him. After having my breast reduction consultation and the amount of time and thorough explanation he provided me, my husband and I felt certain enough to cancel my other consultations. Dr. Shastri is extremely thorough, takes his time with the surgery and is cery compassionate and kind. He is never in a rush and makes you feel comfortable. He is highly regarded by other health care workers and I am very pleased with the results of my surgery. Office staff are not warm and fuzzy, but extremely busy, efficient and on top of everything. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Shastri was HIGHLY recommended to me by my Gyno and that was enough for me to proceed in scheduling surgery with him. He is not the most chatty person but is extremely talented and knowledgeable in his field. I am now 5 weeks post op and I can tell you that he is the BEST & most caring breast surgeon in town!!! Because of his skill and experience I did not go home with drains and my recovery has been amazing. My incisions are healing quickly and beautifully! I HIGHLY recommend Dr Shastri!

I do NOT recommend Dr. Shastri or his staff. Dr. Shastri is uncommunicative. He barely speaks to you. I hate going to see him. And his office stinks of Glade plug-ins. Dr. Shastri's office staff is less than helpful. They act annoyed when you call with questions and can't get you off the phone quickly enough. They do not take responsibility for what should be handled in their office, rather, try to push you back off on your oncologist or radiologist. Not the experience you should have.
