I had a 7 cm ovarian cyst that was causing significant pain, especially when walking. I had to argue for Dr Braz Martin to remove it as my job requires me to be on my feet, lifting pushing pulling and this ovarian cyst was causing me to miss work. I had to wait several months for surgery and I felt belittled when my surgery finally came and went. I knew the cyst had partially ruptured by the time surgery came around and was probably significantly smaller, but it was still causing intense pain. Overall, I was treated like a burden, and that my pain was not a priority. I was also very unceremoniously given an endometriosis diagnosis with no further discussion. I was told that 'we normally don't operate on these' and 'cysts are normal and resolve on their own' as reasons for trying to reject my need for a surgery. Normally when I come to this practice I see the nurse practitioner, this was my first interaction with Braz Martin and it was my last. I have since found a new OBGYN.

My OB/GYN for 15 years.
Excellent doctor. She is a great patient advocate and listened to me when i was In pain. Come to find out i had A large ovarian cyst that was twisting. Thanks to her i am pain free. Also, she is a trauma-informed OBGYN. I started Seeing her when I was 15 and I’m 30 now. Her office staff are a little edgy but I keep coming back for her.

When you talk to Susan she looks right at you like your the only person in the world. She’s smart and thoughtful and she doesn’t act like she is doing you a big favor by talking to you. She is explained procedures before she does them. No woman likes to go to her gynecologist but with her there is no fear or worries. She is a real person and a great obgyn m.bd. Don’t worry give her office a call and get the care you deserve

I saw her for excessive menstrual bleeding. She couldn't find the cause of the bleeding after years of investigation, and discharged me as a patient when I complained about long office wait times. I was recently diagnosed with a genetic collagen defect (Ehlers-Danlos syndrome) by Geneticists. EDS can cause excessive menstrual blood loss secondary to blood vessel wall fragility which seems to be the cause of my issue.
