I love Dr Susan Chapman
I love Dr Chapman..I've known her for many yrs as both her patient & from working at Castle Hosp..she can come off as cool, but I'm here to tell you she is very caring despite her very professional & maybe stiff bedside manner..for me she has always listened through very hard times/tears & has even held me!!..I'll never forget her compassion & dedication!!..she's extremely busy which might have contributed to some of these reviews & she's been head of ob/gyn for yrs..she's very experienced in every way..please don't judge her coolness for lack of caring..she's an EXCELLENT Dr..

Poor patient care
If you want to get punched in the cervix by an unnecessary trans-vaginally ultrasound probe Twice, go see Susan. If you want to be told your bladder is full so you have to walk down the hallway all lubed up with your pants off, go see Susan. If you want to have painful scars and a hole left in your labia after tearing in delivery, go see Susan. If you love cold, dismissive, gruff, condescending bedside manner, Susan is the one for you. This woman does not deserve to be called a doctor.

I personally work with this brilliant woman in the Operating room & she is the most skilled surgeon when it comes to O.B/Gynecology. I work in Labor & Delivery at the 2 best hospitals on island. Dr. Chapman is my Doctor and I wouldn’t want anyone but her to operate on me. I was shocked at some of the reviews on here prompting me to write a more truthful review. When it comes to petty judge mental comments verses experience it’s a no brainer. Good luck finding a better surgeon than her, Dr. Chapman knows her stuff!

She seems like a very smart and capable doctor, but she is not easy to talk to and comes across as quite condescending. She can be very dismissive as well. I often leave her office feeling frustrated because she is so dismissive of my concerns.

Don’t go to this doctor Karen. I usually give anyone the benefit of understanding them maybe they are having a bad day but I don’t know what’s up with her attitude but she is just cold hearted, no bed side manner didn’t sanitized her hands before she touch me/my open wounds from the surgery and considering covid too. She would blatantly do personal call or text while she’s treating me. She’s very dismissive and my appointment was 30 mins late and her consultation was rushed. she’s very rough knowing that i was in pain with my wound and still healing, i was leaving her clinic driving home bleeding I swear she’s the worst Doctor Just don’t go to her. why is she practicing tho ? If she doesn’t care for her patients or her JOB. Like what the? The only thing that’s good are her staff in the clinic. I think she’s just that one KAREN co-worker

Dr Chapman is a brilliant, detailed doctor. I learned more about my body in my first visit with her, then I had in my last 20 years with other doctors ... (5 pregnancies, 3 C-sections) Dr Chapman is not one to coddle but she is caring and very attentive to her patients needs. She was a breath of fresh air to talk to and explained procedures/questions instead of just talking down to me like most doctors do.

Wait time is almost always 1 hour + and actual visit with Dr. Chapman lasts about 5 minutes. Dr. Chapman told me the last time that my wait was due to her training another employee on how to use the ultrasound machine (during my scheduled appointment?!).

After years of pain and sickness and exhaustion, I found Dr. Chapman. Many doctors misdiagnosed me or simply ignored my plea for help! Dr. Susan Chapman never gave up on me and found the solution for my medical issues. Needing a major surgery with other medical problems was a difficult decision to make, but Dr. Chapman was patient, experienced, and understanding. She performed the surgery with expertise and was always available for my recovery care needs. This woman is amazing!

Horrible!!! She prescribed medication to me that we later found out was in National litigation in all 50 states for being linked with birth defects in infants! Hello??? I'm pregnant and she prescribes medication that is currently in litigation for birth defects??? AND she didn't even advise me of the potential risks!!!??? Sounds like professional negligence to me! Her whole office was rude and offensive when we complained about this. No apology, no acknowledgement, no understanding...

If you're looking for a skilled surgeon she's your doctor! She removed my massive fibroids through a large incision in my abdomen. I stayed in the hospital for 2 days after the surgery. I rested at home and went back to work 2 weeks later! No heavy lifting of course but I was off pain meds, able to drive and sit at my computer for most of the day. Yes, she could smile a little more, But seriously what's more important...skills or a smile?? (BTW, I'm from Los Angeles and used to the best at UCLA)
