Worst Dr. - wouldn't trust with my goldfish
Was completely dismissed. Did not feel I was heard or understood and said 'she wasn't worried' about an elevated protein in my blood work that got me referred there in the first place. I went through all my symptoms and what I have been experiencing for many years - just to have her 'recap' at the end and it not being anything I said. Wouldn't trust with her my children, dog, or goldfish. Would not recommend her at all! In fact I will be requesting a second opinion. Ended up leaving in tears.

Outstanding
My Mother's Physician many years ago, although my Mom has passed I went to several visits with her to see Dr. Jacobi in Nashville, TN. She was always very comforting to Mom. Along with Arthritis, Mama had Ovarian Cancer. I will never forget her kindness. Tysm Dr. Jacobi, I wish there was more like you in this world.

Wouldn't have her see my dog!
Horrible! I cannot believe this cold non-caring woman is allowed to see patients. She scolded me for having 5 hrs or less of sleep when I have no control of my rotten sleep pattern. Tried to get a knee reflex response and after many attempts she scoffed and said "must be caused from your surgery" without any further explanation. At the end of the exam she said she would do the test my other specialist called for but said "this is all I (Jacobi) will do for you and I do not want to hear from you (me) again." I left crying. Absolutely the worst healthcare provider experience I have ever had to endure and I have unfortunately had too many to count after a debilitating car accident.

Unbelievable
First visit with her I was dismissed out of hand because I presented with no objective data to definitively say what my issue is. Despite my 5 years of dealing with several issues, it meant nothing. Second visit (a year later), the first thing out of her mouth was , "why are you here again?" I brought my sister, who is fighting the SAME genetic disorder and barely listened, and only because my sister pushed did she even think about agreeing to try medication for treatment. Third visit, barely believed that I was having relief with the medication (after only 2 months on it) because, again, I met no objective data to measure. This arthritis is the #1 misdiagnosed and under diagnosed because of people like her. Unless you have her favorite diagnosis... Doesn't give ya the time of day. I asked the staff, just yesterday, if I could change providers within the same clinic and got a NO. I've been working in the medical field for 20 years and have NEVER heard a no to being able to change docs!

Yikes!! In my opinion, this doctor either woke up on the wrong side of the bed or has become an extremely rude medical professional. I went to get a second opinion and I felt like she thought I was a complete waste of time and in my after visit summary she recommended I exercise more, which had zero to do with why I saw her. I saw her to discuss Sjögren’s Syndrome, as I’ve been suspected of it by an eye doctor. I have hypermobility Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome DX by U of I Genetics Clinic in 2018, stage 3 hidradenitis suppurativa in my groin area, and many other co-morbid conditions that make exercising difficult to do as much as I’d like to. The only positive thing about my experience was her nurse. I recall she being kind and caring.

After 2 visits I moved my care elsewhere. It was impossible to get lab results as they don't offer a portal. When I told her I had pain, she said we all have pain, being extremely dismissive. I came from WA State where I had exemplary care and coming here was shell shock!!! Wait times are horrible, time spent with patients is rushed and their lab waiting area is filthy. If you have an autoimmune disease, please go elsewhere and save yourself the headache. I have never met a physician who clearly doesn't care about her patients at all. I guess there's a 1st for everything.

For those you had a great experience with Dr. Jacobi, good for you. My experience was the contrary, before she did one blood draw let along get results, she told me I didn't have lupus... I was dx in 2011 in Illinois, by multiple doctors, even had one of the top rheumatologist treating me until I moved to Iowa, So I said well no need to me seeing you again, well to my surprise after my blood work came back, I noticed she adjusted her notes reflecting lupus as my primary dx. Shame on her, too late for a first impression

Worst. Doctor. Ever. My daughter was referred for treatment of lupus. Dr. Jacoby states all of her symptoms could be related to other issues...she couldn’t state what the other “issues” were. My daughter experiences significant pain and the doctor stated she had no pain. All of the classic symptoms of lupus my daughter experiences were discounted. We will be obtaining a second opinion for sure.....shame on you Dr. Jacoby, you should try to reassure your patients, not make them feel worse than they already do...

I'm blown away reading reviews. The doctor I've seen, is not the doctor in these reviews. I found her to be very sweet and kind, interested and knowledgeable. She's responded to my online questions very quickly and it's been a great help to me so far. I will continue to see her. Lyn Foshé

I was referred to her years ago (before she went to Nashville, apparently) by my primary care physician because a test came back positive for RA. When I went there, the first thing she said to me was "You don't have RA, you have Lupus", like I would know that. She said it so rudely, that I was speechless. I had never had a Dr. speak to me like that. I was in my early 30's and had no idea what Lupus even was, and she never took the time to explain to me, either. I told her I was having shoulder pain, she yanked my arms up and down and told me there was nothing she could do for me. I was almost in tears because of how I was treated. I would NEVER recommend this woman to mow my lawn, let alone take care of my medical needs. After reading some of the other reviews, it appears that she's still just as nasty as she was some 15 or 20 years ago. I see Dr. Pittman currently, and he is amazing, along with the other staff. Just stay away from her unless you're up for be spoken down to.

Quote. "I don't have time to treat you when I could be helping people with RA or MS. Plus I can't do anything to help you anyway. " Unbelievable. Shouldn't be a health care provider with her attitude.

I need to leave credit where it is due. I've had my share of terrible experiences with doctors. Iowa Arthritis was booking 4-5 months out and I took first avail with Dr. Jacobi. I was apprehensive due to reading her reviews but went with an open mind. She listened to me, did a thorough exam, and gave me a plan of where to go next. I think previous reviews were written out of high emotion which is unfortunate because if reflects poorly on the doctor. I had a positive experience.

Dr. Jacobi has been wonderful in the frustrating process of getting a definitive diagnosis (seronegative RA). She always takes her time with me, listens to my concerns & questions & gives me many options & a say in my treatment regimen. She has recognized my frustration with this illness & is empathetic & compassionate. I couldn't have gotten through this without her. I highly recommend Dr. Jacobi.

This is by far the worst doctor I have met. She treats people like trash. Has no interest in hearing your questions, concerns, or opinion. She is always on a hurry and so detach is like her body is there but her mind is somewhere else. If you need a Dr please find someone else don't waste your time with her!!! You will have more empathy from a rock than from her.

Dr Jacobi does not seem to like to be asked any questions and, in my opinion, demonstrates defensiveness and even some hostility when questions are asked. The type of questions I am referring to are basic ones to help with my comprehension of my condition and not of the nature of challenging the Dr's judgment. Also sometimes I feel that appointments are rushed and I do not feel any benefit as a result. On another note, the lab people have always been very friendly and efficient.
