Dr. Susan Swigart, MD

At 15 I gained 50lbs because of the medications Dr. Swigart administered to me. I was blamed for my weight gain and told that these medications are weight-neutral. They are not and I am still dealing with the gastrointestinal side effects of these medications over a decade later.

Susan is an amazing doctor. She is not jusgemental and very responsive to client needs and questions. She is compassionate and is one of the only doctors that truly helped me.

Susan is very great at listening to me and having me be involved in my treatment. She has always presented me with options and has let me be a partner in my care. She is great at coordinating with my other outpatient providers and has always been a great advocate for me. She’s not just good at prescribing medications but she’s also good at the therapy aspect of things. I can always get an appointment during an emergency, even if it means her meeting with me over her lunch hour, which she has done in the past. She’s very responsive to communication and easy to schedule with. She’s also always on time. Susan has gone to bat for me on numerous occasions and is invested in my recovery and my well being. I completely trust her judgment and her clinical expertise.

Dr. Swigart is extremely empathetic, a good listener, and willing to explain her treatment decisions in depth. She always addresses my concerns clearly and explains things like medication interactions or possible side-effects, so I feel like I understand what is going on and what to expect going forward.

She's thorough, caring, and easy to schedule with. She tries to get the whole picture and really listens to you. Once I was having a crisis and she squeezed me in the same day over her lunch hour. She's very committed to her patients.
