Awful bedside manner
Dr Kulkarni, was very unsympathetic and cold. While explaining the surgery she told me that if any of my sentinel nodes turned out positive with the dye they inject prior to the surgery she will then automatically take 18-20 nodes. Having a medical background that seemed very extreme to me and I know that would have caused more harm than good in the long run. At the end of our meeting she made a point of telling me that I need to go get a hip X-ray (which I already said I was getting when I left her office). She said if that hip X-ray comes back with anything on it surgery is off the table. Exact words! That could have waited until I got the X-ray. Very unsympathetic. Needless to say I chose another surgeon with a different group who ended up only taking 5 lymph nodes and all my bordered were clear.
