Best MS Doctor for Me Over 21 Years and 6 Doctors
The MS doctors I have seen in the past 21 yrs include well-educated & experienced ones from top practices in the MS field in different cities & states, including Boston MA. For me, much of the selection of a doctor to treat my MS, relies on clicking with that doctor in our interactive communication, both listening and verbalizing. Dr. Rizvi is the best I have worked with yet, regarding his strengths as a listener & in being an effective communicator, in a very pleasant, fully engaged way. He is an attentive listener who retains what I tell him, even 4 years later, and addresses every question or concern of mine thoroughly, no matter how many I pepper him with. By the end of our visit, he has addressed, to my complete satisfaction, everything I have asked and things I HAVEN'T asked, that NO OTHER doctor has EVER addressed with me, things that I consider very IMPORTANT & even PIVOTAL, from my diagnosis of type of MS,to m treatment & current state of my positivity about my MS health!

Dr. Rizvi has been treating me since 2003. He is always available and treats the whole person, not only for MS, but takes notice of other medical conditions and adjusts medications/treatment accordingly. He is a caring human being in addition to a talented physician.

I've never had a problem with Dr. Rizvi. He always takes time to ask my opinion on anything that is bothering me. I've never felt rushed when I see him. I had a few MS doctors before him, but this is the first time that I feel my MS doctor is really listening to me. I have PPMS so I know that we're a much smaller group, but he always makes sure I understand what is going on.

He always spends as much time with me as I need and answers all of my questions. He’s extremely interested in my overall well-being, always asks me how work is going, and genuinely seems to care. He’s also very willing to let me lead my care.

More suited for medical research... in an all male lab.... researching X-linked neuromuscular diseases, male pattern baldness, or prostate cancer. It baffles me as to why he is involved in the treatment of a disease that affects women at four times the rate of men. He has no tolerance or empathy for women. He can be really quite mean at a time when we are at our lowest and most desperate for good, compassionate care.

Just... NO! Run, don't walk away from this man. I know he's the only MS doc left in RI but bad care is worse than none. Surely there is better in a neighboring state.

I’m in need of medical help my family Dr has been trying to get me in to see Dr Rizvi for over a month now due to something going on with my head and seizures I have. His office keeps refusing me medical help because I don’t have insurance even though I can pay for my visit and care. They don’t care if I can pay, Every time my Dr calls the office visit goes up I’m now quoted at 400$. No problem please help me, nope keeps refusing me. When my health insurance comes active I won’t call him.

I have referred several people to Dr. Rizvi. I find him to be very intelligent. I have given him a symptom andhr knows what the problem is right away, with out hesitation. Always listens to you. I never feel rushed. I don't know where I would be without him. I truely believe my MS has not gotten any worse because of him.

I switched to Dr. Rizvi just a couple months back. I am beyond grateful to have him as my neurologist. He is caring, concerned, knowledgeable and thorough. He answers all my questions and concerns with a straightforward answer and I appreciate that. If I wanted it sugar coated, I would see Willy Wonka. Today he went above and beyond for me for a post treatment problem I am dealing with. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Rizvi first diagnosed with MS, and he and his office have been amazing since then. His matter-of-fact way of speaking was a quality that I really respect when it comes to understanding my disease. He told me right away that my MS was very aggressive, and that we should act quickly with strong medications. Although scary to hear, it was refreshing to have someone be so blunt when everyone else was trying to pretend like it wasn't a serious issue. He's an excellent doctor.

I was diagnosed with MS by Dr. Rizvi, but then again he still treated me as if I'm lying about my symptoms. He stated "I believe how bad your exhaustion is but not about anything else" he begun to get loud in my face and said " the rest is all in your head!" I was so shocked and disgusted by how you can treat any patient like that but one with a serious, invisible illness and act like I'm making this all up!! Especially when you diagnosed it yourself and you work with MS patients every day!

This Dr. has no personality whatsoever. I call him the mad scientist. I seen him for the first time, he started me on a med for migraines, which was too high of a dose. Back 3 months. MRI done. Nothing for migraines. Not even ibuprofen. He says he done. Go to other Dr.?? Waiting for MRI results and no appointment available for results. Migraines getting worse. Still won't see me. Totally uncaring Dr.!!!! I feel he's useless. Unfortunately I had to give a star!!!!
