Dr. Syed Jafri, MD

I liked Dr. Jafari’s sunny personality. He was kind and listened carefully. Asked questions and offered a few solutions and different approaches. When something didn’t work for me or was no longer needed, he offer other options and encouraged me.

Dr. Jafri is wonderful. My last visit he had an emergency he had to help out with a procedure. I saw his assistant which was very kind and thorough. The thing I loved is Dr. Jafri even called the next day to apologize for not being able to she me but his assistant took care of me. Wonderful doctor and very good bedside manners.

Dr. Jafri has always been very straight forward with my health. He explains things until I understand what is going on with me. He is very considerate and kind. He knows his business which is gastrology. I recommend him.

Contacting Dr Jafri through patient portal or leaving messages on phone line rarely results in them contacting you back. I have been without medicine refills or insurance authorizations being sent in unless I make a trip to the office. They will try to convince you that you didn’t call or use the portal. I walked out of my appt today when Dr Jafri’s asst and then later Dr Jafri tried to convince me that I hadn’t tried to contact them. When I got upset, said I was leaving because I felt they were gaslighting me, he tried to get me to stay. When I tried to walk out the second time, he put his hand around my arm and tried to direct me back to a chair. I sternly told him I was leaving and he let go. I told him, I would rather go without medication than deal with this office. He was recommended by my UTMB primary care person but after today, I will go to a gastroenterologist in the UTMB system. Up until today, I thought he was knowledgeable doctor and that his office staff wasn’t efficient.

He explains things until he knows you understand. Thorough in finding us the best surgeon to continue care. Thank you for giving it a second go at.

Dr Jafri will always be my choice when is comes to a gastroenterologist . For over 10 years he has been my physician. He will continue to be my choice as long as he is in practice. Let me say this, in todays medical treatment, few docs take the time to listen, well…….... he does.

Dr. Jafri is very good and through physician and I do not hesitate to recommend Dr Fafri to friends and family. I only wish it would be easier to get connected to the staff. Because regardless of when one leaves a message no calls would be received until the next day. I don’t what it is so difficult for someone to answer the phone?

Dr. Jafri has been my GI provider for over 10 years. He is always pleasant, listens to my concerns, and provides the best care I could ask for!

Dr Jafri is very thorough. He takes the time to explain my conditions and answers all my questions (as I have many). He ensures I understand the required treatment that's needed and options if available.

His appointment was rushed & spent no more than 2-3 minutes in the room. What Dr orders a test without examining the patient? He seemed more concerned about teaching his PA than the health of his patient. Horrible Dr! Do not recommend!

I have been very happy with Dr. Jafri since the very first time I met him. He's a "people person"! He always makes you his focus. He also has been very good with my great granddaughter when I've had to have her with me. He's just a great person as well as a doctor.
