Dr. Taiye Popoola, MD

I have multiple chronic medical conditions, and this obviously made Dr. Popoola very uncomfortable. She doesn't have much confidence dealing with complex cases. She called my autoimmune disease 'Chronic fatigue fibromyalgia type illness', making it sound like I am faking. It shows she does not understand any of these conditions. She also wanted an extremely fast taper off of my benzodiazepines, which is very dangerous and potentially deadly. She also does not treat ADHD. She will assume that you are a drug addict if you use a controlled prescription. She tried to say that my other specialists are wrong about my conditions like allergies. My whole experience with Dr. P was very demeaning.Chronically ill patients often have to 'fight' the medical system for years to be properly diagnosed. Especially those of us with rare illnesses. We are told our illnesses are in our head, and not believed, which delays treatment for years. I cannot recommend this practice.
