Very disappointing appointment
I waited 4 months for an appointment. Ok maybe that is normal these days. I was “diagnosed “ with osteoarthritis of wrists & maybe fibromyalgia. Nelson spent quite a bit of time explaining what she didn’t treat. It would have been helpful if my pcp had been informed of this so she could have referred me to someone else. Nelson showed no empathy to me. Did not shake my hand. Had follow-up questions but nurse said Nelson did not talk to patients on the phone.

Expert care
Dr Nelson is optimistic in her care for me. When I was diagnosed with gout, I had been struggling with the pain and inflammation in my feet for years without any relief. Dr Nelson immediately identified the problem and began treatment. There was some improvement after the first visit but at the follow up she ordered lab tests and a second prescription because she wanted to see more progress. At the next follow up she tweaked the two prescriptions and the redness, inflammation, and pain are now better controlled. Dr Nelson continues to monitor my condition regularly and we discuss and adjust my therapy as needed.

I was told it would be a virtual visit and I would be contacted a week ahead for previsit and given her email that I could give her any additional information prior to the visit. None of this happened. Friday at 4 pm I was called for a previsit and the phone rang once and I immediately called back and it went to voice mail as the office was closed. My virtual visit was scheduled for 8:20 am and I still had no email or call, so I called the office and was told she would send the link and get my information herself. At 8:38 I got a phone call and was given a link which I immediately clicked on and it had both of our names my face but no sound and no video of her and 8 seconds later her name disappeared and she disconnected the visit. I again called for the 3rd time and asked what was going on and the same person that left the message Friday said I would have to reschedule. I waited 6 weeks for the virtual visit. Don't waste your time with this office. Find a different provider.

Anyone else having issues getting through to Dr. Nelson's office? I have been trying to call several times over several days and I'm on hold at least 40 to 45 minutes before hanging up. So frustrating!

Still Looking for a Good Doctor – Jul 27, 2020

Rude, condescending, judgmental; adjectives Dr Nelson rightly deserves. Her bizarre, dismissive attitude toward me was beyond insulting. She was very quick to tell me everything she would not or could not do; stating she “didn’t treat back pain”, nor would she “RX narcotics”-weird, since I made no mention of “back pain” as my CHIEF complaint nor did I ask for drugs? Hmm, prejudice much? Yes. I AM on narcotics because I CANNOT WALK. Funny, but I thought possible spondylitis causes “back pain”? ??
