Very busy ER but excellent care by Dr Afonso
I'm not sure how Dr Afonso got these bad reviews? I cut my hand and needed stitches and she was very concerned and gracious, and did a very nice job closing up my laceration. I realize that sometimes in a busy ER it might seem that the staff are being abrupt, but we never know what else they are dealing with at that moment and I can say that Dr Afonso could not have treated me better while I was under her care at Overlook Hospital.

Disgustingly discourteous
She’s rude and disrespectful to her patients, after reading the previous review it’s crazy to see she hasn’t changed I plan on reporting her to the medical board. She acts like she doesn’t want to be there and talked to me rude the entire time, she has a bad attitude. When I asked to speak to my doctor she threatened to have me kicked out by security and then proceeded to call them. I was so shocked by her demeanor and the way she was unnecessarily speaking to I decided to record a video of it.

seen Dr. Afonso in ER and she did not have the courtesy to examine me.. she stood 10 feet away and acted as if she didn't care and as if i was wasting her time..she spent less than 5 minutes with me...very unprofessional and trivialized my symptoms. would never recommend her to an enemy let alone friend or relative.
