Pitiful care.
My husband went to Dr. Vellows for an office appt. Not aware nor was it explained to him that Dr. Vellows planned on performing an invasive procedure in the office. The purpose of the procedure was not explained as he had already been diagnosed. No post procedure instructions were given, just poof, out the door! Within 24 hours he was running a fever of 102-103, chills, nausea, vomiting. Thinking he had flu, we treated with acetaminophen.Finally after 4 days, we began trying to reach out to Dr. Vellows but he was inaccessible. After over 5 attempts in one day to receive any response at all from his office. We ended up going to urgent care where we were immediately sent to the E.R. After multiple tests, he was found to have infection in kidneys, and blood. His condition being so acute they planned to admit him to the hospital. After we were told the admitting MD would be Vellows, we declined. We chose home with meds and to follow up with a different physician.
