Dr. Tej Atluri, MD

This doctor is awful. He was the hospitalist the night I wad admitted. I got to my room around 530 am. I was heavily medicated on dilauded for severe pain. CT scan revealed pancreatitis . I have MS & live w chronic pain from MS daily. Dr came 2my room @8am.didn't listen, examine me., ask questions. He had an mmediate attitude. Told me i was fine, labs were fine, & no pancreatitis , thatI'll go home later afternoon. Just HOURS after I was admitted. I've always, in my history of hospital stays/surgery, have received benadryl &zofran w my pain meds cuz they make me itchy and nauseous. He changed all meds &told husband "I'm not going to give her a med cuz she demands it. Demands ? It's not demanding its years of knowing what works 4 me. He treated me as if Im an addict. He wrote LIES on H&P. He answered the questions as if he had examined me. He didnt.. he's a liar. If I hadn't requested a new doc, I could b dead. I DID have severe pancreatitis &liver disease. But he said I was fine..

Had multiple tests inside of hospital MRIs cat scansS ultrasound mega echo brain scans emg for possible stroke. Have medical issues to begin with md stating that every test were negative. I did experience of TIA at home and abnormal ekg from my primary physicicy and was told NOTHING WRONG WITH ME. I know I have medical issues and would NOT ADMIT THAT THERE WERE OTHER ISSUES THAT MEEDED TO TEND TO

I am so disappointed that TGH let's doctor Atluri in their hospital. He should not be interacting with sick patients. He is rude, condescending, and doesn't have time to explain to you what the treatment plan is or lack there of. He screams at nurses and acts like he's doing you a favor, but let's be honest he collects your insurance money and owes you five minutes of his time. As a woman being in the hospital alone, I do not feel comfortable in his care as he does not listen and belittles you.

I saw Dr. Alturi as a patient in TGH and he was kind, answered all my questions; and explained everything regarding my health condition. He also explained the medical after care needed. I would highly recommend him and am thinking of seeing him for my primary care doctor.

He was my doctor during a recent stay at Tampa General Hospital. I could not have asked for a more kind, caring and compassionate doctor who listened to what was going on and made quick decisions and solved the problems quickly.
