Patient & kind | Wonderful surgeon
I have a complicated medical history. Multiple surgeons refused to help me. Two surgeons tried and failed to correct my toe. No surgeon recognized the severity of my ankle instability. Dr. Patel spent a lot time reviewing my medical records during the initial office visit. He developed a plan to stabilize my foot and ankle. The recovery was long and somewhat complicated due to the post surgical precautions. More than 6 months later, my outocome is very good. I would highly recommend Dr. Patel.

He did my Achilles surgery. Explained everything in detail and moved forward. My pain medication kept wearing off. I told him. I him I didn't want to be like a zombie and we found something that worked. He's wonderful.

I saw Dr. Patel for a second opinion on a toe joint implant recommended by a very large orthopedic surgery group in Richmond. He could not recommend the new implant for my case because it was still evolving and carried certain risks never mentioned by the other group. He suggested (and performed) a simple, less invasive procedure and the results were 100% effective. Dr. Patel and the VCU Health staff are now my "go to" team for any future orthopedic needs.
