Heard, Seen, Understood and Properly Treated
For the 1st time in 2 decades, I was able to be honest and open about my sexual and reproductive health. The elation I felt to finally be heard and have my pain validated. Dr. Adegoke understood that culture and lifestyle were a part of my health and may be contributing to my symptoms. The questions surrounding my visit were impactful, purposeful, and though-provoking, I have never been asked those questions as part of visit. It helped to diagnose a problem that was chronic at the time and went unchecked for months despite, seeing different medical providers before and expressing it as an issue of concern. In 2 hours, I had a diagnosis, treatment plan and a plethora of resources to help me navigate post care and treatment. This 1 visit was enough for me to tell the difference between amazing providers and text book providers.
