First off, her staff blatantly lied to me by saying they accepted my insurance. Turns out they “have good luck billing”. I submitted a statement of 1,200 insurance only covered $90. Initially I did feel like Dr. Delawter did care about me but as time progressed she truly didn’t listen to my needs or complaints and wanted to keep me HIGHLY medicated. I’m moderately bipolar and ADD she had me on FOUR medications!!! After going cold turkey off my olanzapine because I was literally falling asleep at my job she was dismissive and gaslit me into saying drowsiness wasn’t a side effect because I took it at night. Excuse me what? Seeing a nurse practitioner at Conquest Health now and in such a better place.

Most Caring Doctor Encountered
Telehealth
I highly recommend Dr. Teresa Delawter because she not only is an amazing professional who has superb knowledge and experience, but I feel that she really cares personally about her patients. Amazingly, she remembers details about my situation and is very insightful about finding solutions to problems that I haven't thought of before. She has much personal life experience to draw from and when I speak to her, it's like talking with a personal friend who cares about remedying difficult situations. She has never been condescending but rather introspective and genuinely kind and understanding. We need more doctors such as herself in the medical profession!

Dr. D treats the person...not just the diagnosis!
Telehealth
I started seeing Dr. D several years ago for ADD. While she's provided very effective strategies which have helped tremendously, as time passed, I began to experience physical challenges unrelated to ADD that my Primary Care was unable, or uninterested in addressing. Dr. D intervened by ordering a brain scan (well beyond the scope of ADD treatment) which resulted in a Parkinson's diagnosis. Had she not, I may still be bouncing from Specialist to Specialist seeking answers.Parkinson's is treated by Neurologists but the inspiration to fight this beast clearly comes from Dr. D. Some days are harder than others, but Dr. D's 'Never Surrender' posture has taught me to fight through the valleys because there is peak just ahead. Some days are hard, but her 'tough love' calls me out when I get lazy or want to wallow in 'why me'?Dr. D is a true Professional that genuinely cares...she remains vested in my success. That's very hard to find these days and I remain grateful I found her.

Our experience with Dr. Delawter was not good . She misdiagnosed my daughter and refused to take her off of medication when she clearly was feeling unwell from them . When my daughter told her she wanted to continue her life without the use of the prescribed medication Dr Delawter made a snide remark that if she called from the hospital being off meds and unwell mentally she’s being balloons . She also set her up for disaster by bringing up the full moon and how it would affect her if she came off the cocktail of meds she was taking that made her feel worse . Office management was also slow in responding , wait times were pretty long as expected however the experience w the actual Dr and care for our child was not good. I would not recommend this Dr to anyone looking for help w mental illness . Misdiagnosis and over medicating is really not it .

The worst experience ever !!
Dr D misdiagnosed our child & put on a cocktail of medication that was not needed After being told she was not feeling right on the meds she refused to take her off of them . When told wanted to be void of meds she told her that on Feb 2nd when the full moon comes and your in the hospital wanting to hurt yourself and you call me … I’ll bring balloons . Who does that . Safe to say nothing happened on Feb 2nd !!! Thank god ! Misdiagnoses, mind games, does not listen to patients or families , pricing is $$$ ,does not take insurance and will take you for fees when they don’t return calls for payment and more then a two hour wait in her office .if you want your family member to be out on a roller coaster of mental health go see her . If not then please do yourself a huge favor and stay away from this Dr . Nothing but bad experience and unnecessary diagnosis and withdrawal for the patient .

Exactly who I needed.
I found her to be straight forward and willing to listen. We were able to identify issues, discuss them, and most importantly worked on how to live, move forward and make plans for the next phase of my life journey. She was exactly who I needed to kick start my recovery and processing of my situation. Her sessions can run over, causing your appointment to be late, but that tells me she’s not cutting off a patient who needs her time. Her staff has always been very pleasant.

Best Psychiatrist I have ever seen hands down! She listened to me and was extremely empathetic. I was on the same medication for 8 years and was experiencing problems again. She didn't just treat me, she cared. She helped me get back on track. I will never see another Psychiatrist again, I truly trust her with my entire family.

At first Dr. Delawter and I had a great relationship. I didn't mind that I always had to wait 30-50 minutes after our scheduled appointment time. We always had great conversations and she helped a lot. It wasn't until she diagnosed me with bipolar II that I started having disagreements with her treatment. I didn't necessarily disagree with her diagnosis. Although I've never had any manic episodes described in clinical terms to disrupt sleep, work, home etc. I was put on lithium knowing that I was also on celexa, for depression, aldactone, for acne, topomax, for headaches and klonopin for anxiety. She mentioned that I would need my lithium levels checked after 4 days of starting lithium therapy. This never happened. I wad never checked up on. No call, no text, no email. On the 5 day I had vomiting and a severe headache. I called out of work the next day. 6th day I had another severe headache with nausea. 7th day same thing so I decided to reach out to her. I sent a text where I'

Dr. Delawter is an amazing doctor who goes out of her way to help her patients. I was in crisis, on a weekend, and Dr. Delawter met with me on a Sunday and spent her entire evening helping me work through what I was dealing with. I have been with her patient for more than a year. I moved out of the area for work and now drive 5 hours to see Dr. Delawter because I refuse to transfer my care away from her. I highly recommend Dr. Delawter for her professionalism and her genuine care and concern for her patients!

I started seeing Dr. Delawter after a very bad experience with my previous doctor of 2 years and in my 10 years of mental health doctors Dr.Delawter was as the first and only doctor to actually diagnose me and explain to me what it meant , she is a brilliant women . I highly recommend her for mental health care because she’s a doctor that actually cares , you won’t walk in and get prescribed tons of dangerous medicine and you know what your on and what the side affects could be .

Dr Delawter is amazing. I have only been seeing her for about 4 months, but she has changed my life! I do not just go in, say "hi", and get prescriptions. Dr Delawter spends 45 min to 1 hour talking to me about how I'm doing and addressing my concerns and answering any questions I have. I highly recommend Dr Delawter to anyone looking for an excellent psychiatrist!!

I absolutely love Dr Delawter. She takes her time when you have an appointment with her and really listens to you. I have had other psychiatrist literally have a timer on during your appointment. She is local and I was able to get in shortly. Other places I have called have a long waiting list or are not even accepting new patients. She is also very knowledgeable and takes the time to educate you on your diagnosis. I definitely recommend her!

It is not until several years after I stopped seeing her, and am under the treatment of a much better doctor, that I see how bad she was for me. I was totally over medicated. I experienced odd things that she said were part of my illness, but turns out were terrible side effects of the meds. She over charges and does not take insurance. I stopped seeing her when she told me a bald face ridiculous lie. Totally untrustworthy.
