Dr. Teresa Merced, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Merced's for 3+ years. During the pandemic I moved several hours away from LA. Last year, she asked that I see her - I explained my move to her staff, they said that she wouldn't do a tele-visit. We finally agreed to have bloodwork done in my local area, and it was sent to Dr. Merced with no response/follow-up. Then a few days ago, she declined to refill my high blood pressure RX with no notice, saying that I need to see her. I said I could make the trip, I was planning on being in Los Angeles in a little over a month from now - they said she now only works on Wednesdays(?!). So now I've scrambled to find a new PCP in my area, I have an appointment in 6 weeks, but am off my high blood pressure medicine until then. I called her office again to see if they would fill it until my new Dr's appt - they said the pharmacy could do an 'emergency' fill without them. I called the pharmacy, and they said they could only give a 3 day supply. Unbelievable.

Dr Merced was extremely unprofessional and insensitive. Without doing any blood panel or knowing any of my medical history, she told me I should lose weight because it could effect previous surgery’s I had. She then proceeds to say I’m not overweight but I should still keep an eye on it, exercise and eat healthy. She also pushed me to take the Covid Vaccine without providing me any information about the side effects or things it may cause-again, without knowing my medical history properly. She needs to take a course in how to communicate compassionately or just don’t be a doctor. Dr Merced also showed an hour late after the scheduled appointment time, in which I arrived 30 minutes early for.
