This was the absolute worst doctor I have ever seen in my life. I was referred to him for a specific condition and surgery but he would not speak to me about that surgery and went on and on and on about weight loss surgery. I told him I wasn't interested in that surgery and that my insurance would not pay for it even if I was but he would not let it go. He spent 30 minutes "shaming" me about my weight. I tried again to discuss the actual surgery I was referred to him for and yet again he changed it back to weight loss surgery. Apparently he is only 1 of 2 doctors in Tupelo that do weight loss surgery and you can tell that's where he makes his money. The man willfully and methodically humiliated me, shamed me and put his own wallet above my health and well being. I would not let this man within a 100 yards of me with a scalpel. He should not be treating patients. He is a disgrace to the medical profession

I feel that this doctor, and his staff, are more concerned about the volume of patients they treat, rather than the quality of individual patient care. I was unfortunate to develop complications with surgery wounds not healing properly. Dr Penson was dismissive and seemingly unconcerned, saying he didn’t know exactly what was wrong, but hoped I would eventually “get better”. Then, an associate of his insulted me by implying I was the type who abused weight loss surgery procedures by asking, “So, what’s next?” It wasn’t until months later, with advocacy from my daughter who lives in Texas, that I was able to meet a qualified and caring doctor who repaired the wound damage done by Dr Pinson, which allowed me to finally heal. I cannot, and WOULD NOT, recommend this doctor and his practice. ?

Quick visits. In and out. Spends quality time with patient and appears concerned about conditions. Knowledgeable and professional. Would definitely recommend...
