Dr. Thangamani Muthukumar, MD

Dr Muthukumar is one of the best doctors I have ever had at 51 years old. I had a kidney transplant and he supported me so much during my recovery. He was kind, compassionate, patient and I felt so safe in his care. He took the time to answer all my questions, he relieved all my anxiety and I could not have asked him or him team for more than what they gave me and my family. I was blessed to be under his care and I would highly recommend him to anyone. I thank him for everything he has done for me, he is truly the best!

Always feel good meeting Dr. Thangamani during my doctor visit with him. He is trustworthy and competent and most concerned about his patients. He has a warm personality and quite understanding and sensitive to their needs.

Dr. Thangamani is by far the best doctor I have ever had! A recent horrible experience at a Long Island hospital for what I thought was an orthopedic issue turned out to be kidney related. The staff at that hospital simply did not listen to the patient. It took intervention by Dr. Thangamani at the request of my wife to solve the issue and get me out of the ICU. He is that knowledgeable and professional.I tend to be nervous about the 'what ifs' and the associated ups and downs. Dr. Thangamani explained that there are so many variables and that if they should arise, he will find the best way to treat them. He allays my fears of what could go wrong and helps me focus on the reason for having a transplant-living and enjoying life with my family. I cannot express how grateful I am to have him as my transplant nephrologist!

The doctor pleasantly explains my health situation and asks if I or any member of my family who accompanies me have any questions. I do not feel rushed or uncomfortable when I see him.

He’s very personable, but most of all he’s thorough and explains everything very well.

Dr. Thangamani is A-1 in my book. When deciding to go to NYC for my transplant I had no clue who my doctors would be and am ever so grateful my nephrologist is Dr. T. He is friendly, professional and thorough, ensuring you fully understand everything before the visit ends. He answers my questions before I even ask them, anticipating what may be on my mind. The trips to NYC have been worth it. Highly recommend!

Dr Thangamani has excellent PA Johana. Johana answered many general trend questions I had regarding health trends since 2013 Kidney Transplant. Dr Thangamani identified 3 trends and Rx or lifestyle changes. Dr T thinks beyond the obvious from his extensive experience. Every visit I leave with more hope and recommendations than before the visit.

He may seem serious but he is an amazing kidney doctor and he is an expert at what he does. Doc is a blessing and keeps me on track with my health. He is not alone Maria his NP and the rest of the staff is just so warm and caring
