Beautiful Breast Artistry - Dr. Nagel and Staff
I am now a year out from my DIEP flap with Dr. Nagel. I never thought that breast cancer would turn into a blessing, but I've been proven wrong! I was referred to Dr. Nagel from my local breast surgeon in Lubbock, TX. I didn't know anything at the time about DIEP flap reconstruction, but Dr. Nagel provided excellent education and visual instruction. He listened very carefully to me, and he and his staff were extraordinary throughout my entire experience. My expectations were exceeded! Prior to my DIEP flap, Dr. Nagel performed an oncoplastic breast reduction/lift. I was very pleased with this surgery, and just as thrilled with my DIEP flap. As I've had time to reflect over this past year, I feel like the results from my DIEP flap have encouraged me to take better care of myself. I feel stronger than ever! Dr. Nagel's PA was also excellent. She followed up with me quickly after each surgery, and she provided helpful advice and guidance thereafter. I felt very cared for!

Went to see him about reconstruction due to recurring breast cancer he refused to even treat me. I had medical clearance from my cardiologist to have the double mastectomy with reconstruction. I have reported him to the medical board.

Never want to have to have him as my doctor – Oct 16, 2021

When I learned I had breast cancer and my breast surgeon was telling me about my options for reconstruction, I immediately chose DIEP FLAP over implants, as I felt like this would be a more permanent and natural choice. My breast surgeon recommended Breast Reconstruction Associates and said I couldn’t go wrong with any of their surgeons. I was assigned Dr. Nagel and didn’t look at any other surgeons at this practice or anywhere else. When working with him prior to surgery, I could tell he really cares about the final result. He even had me get another surgery done prior to the DIEP FLAP to fix a hernia so his results would be better. He has a great bedside manner and he has an ipad full of pictures, and you can ask to see pictures of women with your body type that he has performed the surgery on. Everyone in their office was great to work with, and my results are amazing. I have recommended him to many friends in support groups and will continue to do so.

I had my DIEP surgery May 2020, part of a double mastectomy with Dr. Vaishali Kent, after receiving chemotherapy for Triple Negative Breast Cancer. I could not be more pleased with the outcome. His bedside manner is top notch as is his work. Hannah, his Physician's Assistant, is equally amazing. I have felt in amazing hands the whole time, which is necessary during this scary time. Thank you, Dr. Nagel, Hannah, and the rest of the staff. Shoutout to Dr. Mino as well, who assisted during my surgery. Thank you for allowing me to feel like myself again--I cannot express how wonderful that feels.

I was a difficult case because I had already had many reconstruction surgeries with undesirable outcomes. I felt like I needed to go on an episode of Botched. Dr. Nagel did beautiful work and I am so happy. I have never been so confident, he did an amazing job! Not only is he a perfectionist, but he explained the procedures in great detail so I would know exactly what to expect. His bedside manner is great, he is very caring. I am so very thankful for him, he changed my life!!

Doctor Nagel has an amazing bedside manor and a wonderful way of explaining things in terms that you understand. I’ve always been very modest, especially with Male doctors, but not one time have I ever felt uncomfortable with Dr Nagel. My reconstruction was amazing, I knew what to expect and was very pleased with his work, just finished up my revision and I haven’t looked this good in 20 years!!! He is like the Michelangelo of breast reconstruction!
