If you are looking for a really good Dermatologist who is also a very compassionate and caring human being, I would recommend to you Thi Thien Nguyen Tran, DO, at Village Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery. On Oct. 6, 2021, I had MOHS surgery on my left leg. He has taken care of my husband and me since we moved here 13 years ago. He was highly recommended to us by our former neighbor, who was a nurse, and also Dr. Tran's patient. I have only had to have actual surgery 3 times in these 13 years. I see his Nurse Practitioners every 6 months. Usually each visit presents 2-3 suspicious areas which are removed for laboratory evaluation and only 3 of those areas required more surgery and actually seeing Dr. Tran. In April 2021 Dr. Tran removed a cancerous spot on the side of my nose. Knowing I was concerned about the visibility of the incision, he was so very understanding and reassuring. Dr. Tran did a wonderful surgery on my nose. I cannot recommend him to anyone more highly.

I recently had mohs surgery by Dr . Tran. I can’t say enough about his professionalism in the performance of my surgery. His work is 5 stars. Dr Tran and his assistant Lori, are very personable. Lori made me feel like a long time close friend during the preparation before the surgery. Dr. Tran and Lori are a great team. They made me feel very comfortable before, during and after the surgery. I have been seeing Dr. Tran for several years and had multiple Mohs surgeries. I recommend him unconditionally. He has demonstrated that in addition to being a world class Mohs skin cancer and cosmetic surgeon he truly cares about each patient. He has always gone the extra mile finishing up with any needed restorations, skin grafts and rebuilding damaged tissue. Years ago these operations were done on me in hospitals. Dr. Tran has adopted modern techniques allowing all of this to be done in a single office visit with no need for hospitalization, keeping costs down and reducing possible exposure to diseases in a hospital environment. Needed to find a new Dermatologist as my current Dr. was nearing retirement. Neighbor recommended Dr. Trans office( Village Dermatology in The Villages). What a pleasant surprise. I never had an office so dedicated to making the patient feel so at ease. Their professionalism and dedication were second to none. From Dr. Tran and Patricia(P.A.), the exceptional nurses, all the way down to the office team, I never had a better experience in a Doctors office. I would highly recommend this office.

I have gone to Village Dermatology for 10 years. On my first visit Philomena and Dr. Tran found a melanoma on my back. My husband puts lotion on my back everyday and never saw so much as a spot. It was not ugly or dark. Since then I have had another melanoma and a number of squamous removed. I have not seen any of my skin cancers. The professionals are trained to see them. PLEASE get your skin checked. Words cannot explain how much I love this office, Phil and Dr. Tran. They may have saved me.

Dr Tran has been our Dermatologist for 11 years. He has surgically removed many basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma's on myself and my husband. Dr. Tran has provided excellent care. The scars are barely noticeable and by using the Mohs method when indicated, we are confident that all of the cancer has been removed. Dr. Tran has always been personable and takes time to make us feel relaxed before surgery. We trust Dr. Tran completely and would highly recommend him.

This was my second MOHS surgery experience. The first with a different dermatologist. I developed an infection despite the antibiotic prescribed requiring a risky second antibiotic. This experience was more professional and thorough. I feel confident the result will be positive. The prep of the operative sight was more thorough, Dr Tran explained what he was doing and stressed post care. Office staff was attentive.

I strongly recommend Dr. Tran! . I've been a patient of Dr. Tran for over 3 years. I was first referred to another leading Villages Dermatologist who misdiagnosed me and recommended treatments which were not even approved by the Dermatogists' Association. Dr. Tran is extremely well trained, very knowledgeable and, his treatments are thorough and effective! The staff are well trained, friendly and efficient. Appointments are efficiently scheduled to meet patients needs with folllow up reminders.

There are some real problems in this office. I've had 4 appointments and only 1 ended up with the provider it was scheduled with. For one procedure I had done I sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes and when I finally asked, they had marked me in as another patient with the same last name. I also had to call several times to get biopsy results. On mutiple occasions they would call and give a name to call back but when you called back and asked for that person you are often transferred several

Dr. Tran and his staff are wonderful. His billing is highway robber! Had 4 biopsies done. Three came back cancerous. One did not, it was an AK and just required a spray. When I was getting stitches out (which they do not charge you for, because it already costs an arm/leg to have each cancerous lesion removed ONE at a time.), they came in and sprayed the one spot that was previously biopsied. And billed insurance again, of which I now have another co-pay. It is ridiculous.

Since I moved to the Summerfield area 13 years ago I have been a pt of Dr Tran's for quite some time. I have seen other Derm. but wasn't happy with the staff or treatment of the doctors. Dr Tran and his Entire staff have been Wonderful. They are the most caring, kind, thoughtful and GENTLE group of medical staff I have been to. I Highly recommend Dr Tran. He is very thorough in his exams and doesn't rush thru and he really listens to you when you talk or ask questions. You are important.
