Worst and lazy doctor
I am experiencing pressure in my ear, neck pain , tinnitus since 1 month. I went to urgent care twice and they confirmed I have ETD due to ear barotrauma and had fluid in my ears. I also did hearing test and it's normal. Today I had an appointment with Dr. Thomas and tuned out to be worst experience as people mentioned in reviews. No interest in knowing history. I mentioned I had some jaw pain this week and he just concluded I don't have ETD, it's TMJ. I told him I had ETD and it's getting better but not completely normal. He literally said, 'sometimes urgent care doctors cannot diagnose properly and your brain can confuse TMJ with ear issue'. He basically denied my symptoms. Then, he checked my ears and said there is no fluid which could be possible because it's getting better as I am using decongestant, nasal spray, daily steam. He didn't even ask what care you are taking and what you should do. I was looking for more detailed diagnosis and solution.

Dr Alexander is MY mistake
Unfortunately I have to strongly agree with the terrible reviews. I would not recommend this very cold and not caring doctor. He doesn’t dig into whys, labeling a problem wrong can have big consequences. He misdiagnosed me, So NO I would NOT recommend him at all.Thank you

The worst doctor ever
When Dr. Alexander entered the examination room, all his appearance and mood was to clearly demonstrate that my presence there was very annoying and disturbing to him, as like he had a better thing to do than talking to me. I was waiting for this visit for over 3 months, and thus came quite prepared with a number of detailed questions concerning my hearing loss. Yet, for my every question I was getting from Dr. Alexander the only answer: “I don’t know”. After a while, I realized that he either really knows nothing in his profession or his only desire was to get rid of me asap. I was so disappointed with his behavior that my last question was: “If you know nothing, what are you doing in this room?”. His response was: “Have a nice day”.I decided to call the insurance company and demand a refusal to pay Dr. Alexander for his “kangaroo medicine”. My advice — stay away from that “doctor”.

Low availability for care
Ive been seeing Dr Alexander for about two years here and there for a number of ear issues. He is kind and will hear me out when I see him and refer for testing as needed but appointments are always rushed and he presents very limited options for care. I do appreciate that he usually runs on time. It is incredibly hard to get an appointment. Experiences like the office cancelling an appointment that has been scheduled for three months and not being able to reschedule for another three months from the appointment date are common. He tells me to ask the staff to ask him directly for an appointment but when I do he tells them no rush, so that’s been unhelpful for sure.

I’ve been going to Dr. Alexander since he was doing his Fellowship. There is no one I would trust more with treating my Ménière’s disease. He has implanted numerous PE tubes in my ear drum over the years. He always tells me what to expect before he does anything during the procedure. I’m very happy that I can now see him at the Rancho Bernardo Clinic.

I had a condition in my ear called otosclerosis. My hearing loss started when I was 29yrs old (now I am 34). I consulted with more than 10 doctors globally (WA USA, CA USA and India). All the doctors ended up recommending hearing aid. Finally, I met Dr.Alexander. He is so good and he gave more confidence to go for a out patient surgery. I had my procedure on Dec 12, 2019 and I recovered 100% of my hearing within 2 weeks of my Surgery. If you have problem with ear, look no further. He will fix it for you.

Dr. Alexander encourage me to get a risky reconstructive surgery. When I emailed with my surgeon at Stanford Hospital they said it wasn't wise, and so I included Dr. Alexander in the email conversation to hear his opinion, yet he never responded. Crickets from Dr. Alexander, would have expected more. Too bad for him, he missed his chance to have someone interesting to carve up. Better luck next time!
