Hurt Mom
I’m deeply disappointed with my experience with Dr. Thomas Babin at LCMC Pediatrics in Destrehan. My son, normally seen by Dr. Remedios (whom we love), had to see Dr. Babin today. He hadn’t eaten in over 24 hours, had diarrhea, a cough, and a runny nose. I detailed his symptoms, yet Dr. Babin ran no tests, only prescribed cough medicine we already had, and suggested a probiotic. When I requested flu, COVID, and RSV tests, he dismissively said most parents avoid flu testing due to the “nasty medicine” and claimed nothing could be done for COVID. Worse, he left the room with the door open and made an inappropriate comment about me or my child at the nurses’ station, confirmed by a nurse. When I confronted him, he refused to address my concerns. I felt dismissed and belittled while simply advocating for my son’s health. Unlike Dr. Remedios and the staff, Dr. Babin’s behavior was unacceptable, and I hope this feedback leads to better care.
