Endoscope
I had an Endoscope done on July 1, 2021. Dr. Thomas Birris was extremely professional. He was patient, explained the procedure in detail, and answered all of my questions. His friendly demeanor and expertise helped diminish any concerns and anxiety I was experiencing before the procedure was completed. In addition, his staff was caring and professional as well!

Dr Birris didn’t listen to my concerns. Said my symptoms weren’t anything he could help with, even though my doctor said the gastrointestinal doctor was the only one who could help. He said it sounds like I am just struggling with constipation, which I have had my whole life, and my symptoms are not simply constipation. I have been having to take laxatives in order to have a BM, and since they can’t get me in for a colonoscopy for a month, he said to just keep taking laxatives! I can’t stand for more than 10 minutes without serious shaking, nausea, and pain behind my ribs, but he said to just keep taking laxatives. I am losing a pound every other day… at this rate, by October I’ll be 120 lbs!!! I’m 5’ 10”!!! He also got upset with me when I misheard him. I was confused and said something again and he rudely said, “That’s what I asked you the first time!” I don’t trust him to do my colonoscopy!

What I like most about Dr Birris is that when I had colon cancer he listened to me about what my symptoms were even when what I was telling him did not make sense to other doctors.

Out of my whole team he was the only doctor that seemed to be able to formulate a reasonable course of action. After an awkward start through no fault of his own, he turned out to be the best Dr. And advocate for me.

No matter how bad your condition is..you have to wait MONTHS to get a procedure done. Overbooked? Good doctor though. The receptionists are NOT friendly and if you call the office, they are rude and act like you are bothering them. Need to be more courteous.....maybe take a class on customer service.
