Best of the Best
Dr. Ellis is an exceptional physician who truly listens to all my concerns and takes the time to explain everything clearly. He is incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate about my fears. And as a bonus, he also has a great sense of humor!

Five stars are not enough to rate Dr. Ellis. In the last nine years I've had two different surgeries by Dr Ellis, a neck surgery and a spine surgery. Both surgeries have been incredibly successful. In the years leading up to my neck surgery, I collected information from people who'd undergone similar procedures, recording surgeon details and outcomes. When asking the neurodiagnostic center staff for top neurosurgeons with consistent success, they recommended Dr. Ellis. In the last year, I was in horrible pain for many months with lower sciatic back problems, living on medication. He took my existing conditions into account and was able to apply his expertise to eliminate all spinal pain. Dr. Ellis is a remarkably gifted surgeon, and I, as a patient, am so thankful.

Long wait to talk with a PA
My wife 2.5 hours with back pain in an exam room just to talk with a Physician Assistant. If the Doctor is busy cancel the appointment or call us that morning and reschedule. That's not right.

Cervical repair
I initially went to a chiropractor because I thought I pulled out my shoulder and when he did an x-ray he said oh no you need to go see a spinal surgeon and I know just the guy to send you too. he sent me to Dr Thomas Ellis in ft worth TX. I did check his bona fides. Met with him and loved him. This man runs a tight ship and his staff is wonderful. I had surgery on c 4,5,6 on Sept 18 2024 and am grateful to happy to have had him repair me. I cannot say enough about what a positive experience I had with him, his staff and the staff at Baylor Scott and White in ft worth. There are great physicians out there and he is one of them. B

Exceptional medical care and follow-up
I was referred to Dr. Ellis due to severe lower back pain and debilitating sciatica. During my initial visits he took time to walk me through the diagnostic images taken based on his guidance. He explained in details my condition and the causes of my pain and sciatica. He provided specific recommendations for treatment. Following this, he completed a fairly extensive surgery and fusion which was successful and relieved my symptoms. I was most impressed by Dr. Ellis' ability and willingness to engage with me throughout the process including following the surgery. He leads a capable team of medical professionals that are trustworthy and professional, and I highly recommend him, especially for these type situations and surgeries.

Dr. Ellis did great, but his surgery coordinator, Hannah did an awful job. We were not completely approved with insurance when we arrived at the hospital and she said we were good to go. She does not return calls and changes appointments without your consent.

I have traveled great distances in order to be seen by Dr. Ellis. He has performed 2 spinal fusions (lumbar) and a laminectomy for spinal stenosis. He is so talented, knowledgeable, compassionate, and really cutel. I first picked him out as the surgeon for my first fusion, and I told my pain management doctor & he knew Dr. Ellis & had actually had Dr. Ellis do his own back surgery -- which is impressive!

I am a 70-year-old rancher that was referred to Dr Ellis by family Doctor in 2022. I had a high degree of pain in my L4 and L5 for about 8 months to the point I was losing feeling in my legs. The first time I met Dr Ellis I was extremely impressed by his humble demeaner, and caring attitude along with his jeans and boots. Dr Ellis examined me along with some tests to diagnose my problem. He then explained and showed me my problem in detail. I was most impressed with his statement: "Let's try some things to see if we can get you some relief. I can always do surgery, but I can't undo surgery." Three months later Dr Ellis did my surgery, and my pain relief was immediate. Five months later I am back to riding my horses and working cattle. Dr Ellis is so God gifted as a surgeon and I am so thankful as a patient of his. I got a little sad when he told me he was releasing me.

Dr. Ellis is an outstanding surgeon. He did surgery on my back and it is so much better. Dr. Ellis is very up front about what is wrong, what needs to be done and the results you can expect. His team is there to support you throughout the process. I highly recommend Dr. Ellis for your needs.

Dr is fantastic, waiting for results unacceptable
I liked Dr. Ellis but like a previous review stated I just don't think he is aware of what is happening after his patient leaves his exam room. The amount of time I have had to wait and call the office trying to get test results regarding a small mass in my head is unacceptable! This has happened every test I have had to have done here. Currently waiting 21 days for MRI results when I was told it would be 5 to 7 days! I don't get callbacks unless I leave an annoyed message.

Dr Ellis
In my search I talked to those in the medical field all new his name and said I was in good hands I don’t think you will ever find a Dr. anymore knowledgeable, talented and devoted to being the very best as Dr. Ellis. Dr Ellis took time with my family to guide us threw this stressful surgery. I have no problem recommending him for you because they don’t come any better than Dr Ellis. I did not want surgery and he listen and we tried everything else first but with surgery Dr Ellis has helped improve my health above and beyond expectations

Totally satisfied!
I have been seeking relief from back pain pain for over 50 years. Not only has Dr. Ellis provided that relief, but every step of the process has been the most pleasant experience that he and his staff could provide. I highly recommend Dr. Ellis and Ft Worth Brain and Spine.

Great all around experience!
Dr. Ellis and the office staff were great! Dr. Ellis was the third doctor I saw when searching for someone to operate on my neck. Prior to anything I was given tests to ensure the surgery was necessary and for him to know what the exact issues were. Although surgery was necessary there was not the “pressure” I received from others to hurry up and have it. Surgery and recovery went great! I loved his sitting with me going over test results and showing me what the surgery would consist of and answering ALL my questions.

Outstanding!!!
I absolutely love Dr. Ellis! He and his staff are outstanding! He is personable, kind and listens to what you have to say. I had to have ACDF surgery in May 2021 and five months later Brain Decompression for Chiari I Malformation. Each surgery was a success and I could not be happier with the results. Dr. Ellis was thorough in his evaluation and sent me for extensive outside testing before even considering surgery. I hands down without reservation recommend Dr. Ellis. He is Amazing!!!

Due to chronic back pain I was referred to Dr. Ellis. After a battery of tests, he diagnosed cervical deterioration in my upper spine. I am now 10 weeks post op and am virtually pain free. Dr. Ellis is a careful, kind, and skillful practitioner and I recommend him wholeheartedly.

Dr Ellis is kind and considers all angles of what is needed for his patients. He is thorough in a surgical situation and doesn't let anything get overlooked. He's like a "momma bear", lol, in that situation. His patients are the best taken care of in the whole hospital and the nurses will tell you how lucky you are. His approaches are conservative and he would never recommend a surgery that is not needed. He is the best of the best in my opinion!

Dr. Ellis is both a highly skilled doctor & surgeon, but also has incredible bedside manner and really cares about the long term outcome for his patients. I have seen him for several years for both lumbar & cervical spine issues. He was not quick to rush to surgical intervention and helped me to stave off pain for years with other methods, but he was also very attentive to the need for surgery when the time came. I recently had an anterior/posterior lumbar fusion & decompression with Dr. Ellis and I have been impressed with how thorough he has been from the actual surgery to post operative care to recovery. I would recommend Dr. Ellis to anyone in need of spine care.

Dr. Ellis came highly recommended to me by a close friend with a lot of knowledge about FW's surgeons. I had a great experience with him from the initial consultation through a very successful cervical spine surgery to my follow up appointments. He is kind, down-to-earth, and explains things thoroughly, in addition to being a great surgeon. I have already recommended him to others I love who have need of a neurosurgeon.
