Never again
I went here because many neurologists have a year or more wait. I was advised I could get my migraine and medical shots at the same time. When I showed up for my shots the associate said I couldn't have both on the same day. I sat there for 3 hours. Mind you I was already 6 months behind from waiting. Every other neurologist before him gave me both shots. I was going to Cleveland and it had two separate clinic for each issue. I finally got my shots but they literally let blood run down my face. I was extremely stressed so my medical disorder was flared. Then I went to make another appointment because I cannot go without these shots. It would take me a year to get in somewhere else. The only reason I came here was because the scheduling of appointments. When you are in network with insurance company you take what they offer other than coinsurance and deductible the patient is responsible for. I waited two months for this office to call so I already took action.

EXCELLENT DOCTOR, understaffed in medical staff
I think that Dr. Giancarlo is an excellent doctor. The problem with this practice is that they are medically under staffed. (I know that this is still true of my medical facilities.) I had a lumbar puncture done and the results should be ready in 2 weeks. It is stressful waiting for the results! However I have to wait 3 weeks to get the results because that was the earliest appointment I could get even with a PA!

Highly recommend
Very personable, easy to talk to and Dr. Giancarlo does not make you feel that the reason you came to see him was unimportant. Explains the reason and need for particular tests to be done, and then thoroughly explains the tests results. Takes time to explain the results so the unmedically knowledgeable person will understand. Did not rush the appointments so that makes the patient feel more comfortable and more relaxed to asked questions. My husband was with me, in the exam room, and told me later how impressed he was with Dr. Giancarlo. I would highly recommend Dr. Giancarlo to any person searching for a neurologist. Thank you.

When I 1st went to Michigan Neurology Associates (MNA), I saw Dr. Giancarlo once or twice, had a few tests, and was prescribed a med and had another adjusted. He never took time to fully explain my diagnosis, how it may progress, and what to expect. For the next few years, I went to MNA, saw either a nurse practitioner or a physician assistant, and got refills, always after long waits, even at checkout. When I got worse, I got appts with Dr. Giancarlo many times, but then always saw a PA or NP instead. They did adjust meds, but I couldn't see him. It seemed the office wanted to get more people through so they could bill rather than address people's concerns. There was one NP that finally took time with me and had me feeling better, but she soon left. I finally met with Dr. Giancarlo once after many years, but only for a few minutes and could not ask the questions I wanted to. I finally found a new doctor. Everyone sent him my records except MNA. Took 2 years to get MNA to send them.

I want to thank Dr Giancarlo for his caring professionalism. He was the first neurologist who cared enough to help understand the root cause of my medical problem. I truly appreciate that he worked hard to help identify the problem and provide a path forward. He said ?we have homework to do?. I also appreciate his open and honest communication. I would highly recommend him to anyone. Dr G, if you read this.....thank you.

He is very condescending. Took out his prescription pad and told me that he’s the doctor. He refused to allow my input in my own medical treatment. I have painful neuropathy and treated me like a drug addict because I need medication to relieve my pain. I wouldn’t recommend him to an ant.

I’d give zero stars, but it doesn’t allow. Dr. Giancarlo should hang up his jacket. My mother was referred to him by her primary for memory loss. At her appointment the end of 2019, he walked in and addressed her as a “very sick woman” and went on as the nurse tried interjecting that he had the wrong chart and was in the wrong room. Even if he was in the correct room, IS THAT HOW YOU ADDRESS A PATIENT?! He then got the correct chart & told my mother that she had been there a year prior and she said she didn’t recall. His response, “What, do you live in a black hole?” Real class act. Needless to say she didn’t have any further appointments with him. Not sure how much people were influenced into giving positive reviews on here, because any other site he has horrible reviews, with mention of the terrible treatment, bedside manner, patients being in tears. We have filed a complaint with Beaumont Hospitals.

Dismissive with disdain for previous documentation, test results and diagnosis. Let’s whatever is irritating him creep into his time with you. Gave him the benefit of the doubt since I was desperately seeking an answer to suffering with life altering neuro problems due to bacterial infection missed by previous doctors. Put me through months of testing that left me in worse condition than I arrived with then told me I was ‘making it up’. I am amazed that he is still holding a functioning Med practice. Disheartening to say the least.

This doctor LOVES to run several VERY expensive tests but by his own admission is only able to diagnose patient neurological conditions 40% of the time. Sorry, not good enough! ! Also VERY arrogant and does not seriously consider patient input in diagnosis.
