Kind, Informative, and Thorough
My first visit to Dr. Lawhorne was a great experience. He took his time to ensure that I understood my diagnosis and to answer all of my questions. He went over my test and my course of treatment and explained everything thoroughly. Anytime you leave a doctor’s office feeling confident about a course of treatment and better than when you arrived, is a good visit. Highly recommend!

Work injury
I feel I haven't had enough interaction with Dr Lawhorn to give a thorough review. I have been waiting since mid December (when my work injury occurred) to get some relief from my lower back pain. I was really looking forward to hopefully getting some answers and relief at my appointment but it's going to take awhile. We have to wait for each thing to be approved by my worker's comp claim department. Hopefully I can get the MRI soon that he has recommended. Seems nice enough, but after reading a lot of these reviews, I'll be careful and on my guard I suppose

Bad Experience
Total waste of time. No help or relief was provided. Just a big money grab. Husband has 3 ruptured disc and a narrowing spinal canal and this dr didn't even look at the MRI. He wanted to do shots which my husband had already had many of them. Husband literally begged him for relief. Please find yourself a different route.

I needed a good doctor.
In my humble opinion Dr. Lawhorne is a very good doctor. He takes a personal interest in his patients which is evidenced by my personal experience when visiting his office. He is candid and clear of his intentions of treatment and treated me with courtesy and respect. He seems to be a man who follows his conscience conscious which is evidenced by his willingness to go above and beyond by making sure he is doing a thorough job to take care of me as his patient. I highly recommend Doctor Lawhorne! Thank you for taking the time to read this. Because time is all we haveVery Respectfully,Mr. Jeffery Charles Wayne Crawford

I went to see what kind of surgery he could do to relieve my back and legs. He gave me four choices live with it, pain management, surgery, or tens unit. I have tried all but surgery and when I told him that his whole personality changed. He stated he wouldn’t do it but would refer me to somebody else. He stated he didn’t want that problem that worry or that responsibility. When I ask why he said I would have to discuss that with the doctor he referred me to. I ask several times what the surgery was and why he wouldn’t do it. I kept getting the same answer. I left his office knowing I need surgery but what kind why he refused to do it and what the surgery pertain to with no answers. The only thing I knew was I seventy and a smoker and he didn’t want that responsibility. So now I have four days to worry before I see the doctor he referred me to. I don’t know why he wouldn’t discuss what they would do in surgery. I felt like I had made him angry because he wouldn’t discuss anything

Very Polite Doctor
Dr. Lawborne III Was Very Polite Entering Room With A Very Gentle Hand Shake, I Didn’t Know What To Expect And Was Tense About The MRI Report I Had Brought In For Review Concerning My Lowering Back Pain, After He Reviewed It, He Informed Me That Their Was Nothing He Saw That Was In Need Of Attention From MRI Report And Advice Me To Ask My Primary Physician To Back Track So We Could Maybe See Something We Needed That May Help Find A Reason For Back Pain, Which Was Good News That I Was Not Headed For Back Surgery. I Contacted My Primary Physician Right Away After Leaving His Office With Report That Was To Me By Him. I Plan On Reporting Back To Him On Findings Of Reports, So Maybe This It Could Help Someone Else. I Really Appreciated The Bedside Manners And Great Atmosphere That Came With The Visit. He Also Ended With A Hand Shake. What A Mighty Good Doctor.

Beyond Expectations
Telehealth
Dr. Thomas Lawhorne III. Was able to solve my three-year lower back pain issue. In my first visit we reviewed the MRI with him explaining each view he brought up. It was evident, even to me, that surgery was the only answer. He completed an L-4, L-5, laminectomy with fusion of the two vertebrae. I had a very rapid recovery and quickly returned to my job as a career firefighter. In March of 2023, I tripped over my dog, falling to the ceramic tile floor. This created an extruding disc at the L-2, L-3 joint. After several months of physical therapy no improvement was noted. Another MRI confirmed his initial diagnosis, and I underwent a procedure to trim the extruding portion of the disc. Recovery was not as rapid as the fusion, however within three weeks I was nearly pain free. I see improvement every day and expect a full and pain free recovery by mid-October 2023. I am so well pleased with Dr. Lawhorne that I traveled from Fort Myers, Fl to have him treat me.

Very pleased
Dr. Lawthorne did my neck surgery in 2015 and I was very pleased. Now I’m in need of another one not related to the 1st one and I wouldn’t think of going to anyone but Dr. Lawthorne. He explains everything very well, excellent bed side manner and takes his time listening and answering my questions.

Every patient has their own options and opinions.
I was 64 as Dr. Lawhorne performed back surgery , had a bad time after the surgery due to constant back pain . When I went in for my recheck I explained the constant pain. Dr. Lawhorne stated WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO? Incorrect question for a doctor to ask. My husband said I need help with constant pain since the surgery. Dr. Lawhorne stated that he could not do anything!!! Went to main office and collected my husband’s medical records, I did my research and found a great orthopedic surgeon at another facility. This doctor correct the problem after another surgery and since then my husband has been fine. Well please with the surgeon I researched.

Best spinal doctor I've visited
Dr Lawhorne treated my cervical spine issue on 9/27/22. So, I returned for my lumbar spine issue. Dr Lawhorne explained what my MRI revealed thoroughly. He explained what our next treatment step was and we discussed what type of possible surgery MAY be needed in the future.
