Dr. Matelic is outstanding. Dr. Matelic listens, is compassionate and empathetic. Everything is explained in a way you can understand. I would not want any other Doctor because of the trust I have in Dr Matelic. So thankful I found him and I am his patient.

I just had my 6 week follow up appointment after my surgery. Dr Matelic has been great to work with. He was up front about my surgery and how hard the recovery is going to be so I appreciate that. He also took the time to answer all of my questions concerning my recovery timeframe and what I can and can’t do right now. He also preformed my husband’s meniscus surgery last year and our son’s ACL and meniscus surgery 12 years ago. We love working with him and trust that he will take great care of us!

I’ve been with Dr. Matelic since 2010 after a previous L ACL Surgery went poorly from Dr. Henne. This is the second surgery Dr. Matelic has performed on me (R ACL replacement, L total knee replacement). Dr. Matelic took the time to explain options vs. surgery until I knew I was ready for a TKR. In the 10 years of bone on bone, he and PA Tim Hunter cared for me through an off loading brace, several series of injections and a few cortisone shots. Dr. Matelic provided me the information necessary to make an informed decision, information about surgery and recovery and let me decide, without pressure, to move forward with the TKR. I knew what to expect. I felt Dr. Matelic understood my reservations, he demonstrated the small parts that went into a TKR, explained life expectancy of the parts, and if necessary, replacing worn out parts. I was on board. Both surgeries were successful, happy with the results and very happy with the interest that was taken in my well-being. HIGHLY recommended.

This is my second surgery with Dr Matelic, 1st was 12 years ago. He’s very professional, caring & honest with his patients & their families. I recommend OAM of GR for any bone surgeries.

I had a great experience with Dr. Matelic. This is the second time that Dr. Matelic has performed surgery on me. Different body parts for the surgeries. I love Dr. Matelic! He is very kind and respectful. He takes the time to listen to you. I had severe arthritis in both knees to the point where my tibias (shin bone) and femurs (thigh bone) weren’t even aligned anymore. I had my rt knee replaced and I couldn’t have hoped for a better result. I mowed my lawn with a walk behind mower 2 wks after surgery! It has now been 6 wks since surgery and I have full flexion and extension and rarely have pain. I’m now anxiously awaiting my left knee replacement!

The Dr. Matelic was extremely knowledgable with my specific injury. He explained everything that was causing the pain, and what to do moving forward. I was very comfortable speaking with him and talking about my options. I very relieved that I was able to meet with him.

Has done two total knee replacements and he was very caring, Tells you what every step will be and how you can minimize pain! Very patient and takes his time to answer questions and make you comfortable!

Dr. Matelic performed a TKR on me March 17th. After checking in at 5:30 AM, I was home by 12:45 PM. Mt staples were removed 3/31, and my scar looks great. I highly recommend Dr. Matelic.

I had a knee replacement with Dr. Matelic. From my first visit, to my last check up, a year later, I felt in very capable and professional hands. I have started the process for the next knee. Saw Dr. Matelic to discuss a shoulder replacement. Since he already replaced one for me with great success, I knew I wanted him to do the other one. He will answer any questions and is a good listener. His office periodically sends out questionaires to find out how things are going. I feel confident in his hands.

After surgery the office kept checking in with me to make sure I was doing ok and answer any questions I may have had. I was worried about the staples but that was nothing. Make sure you do the exercises prior to the surgery. I started doing mine a month before my surgery and I attribute my doing so well to this.started therapy at one location but changed to oam therapy on leffingwell because they tailored the exercises based on strength and flexibility tests they did. I can’t say enough good things about their therapy dept because they would make sure I was doing the exercises correctly and when I mastered one aspect they changed it up to make it a little more challenging they offered me so many tips on how to get past a block I was having. Because I waited so long for surgery I had a lot of bad habits to unlearn that I had been doing to just get by. I didn’t realize how bad my balance had become until they had me do some balance exercises and then I realized I had more work to do.
