Dr. Thomas Ostergard, MD

Dr. Ostergard has monitored for return of a tumor on my Pituitary gland. ChangeI had STRT radiation in 2016 to remove the tumor which had returned from surgery in 2005. He always explains details in terms we can understand & shows us on the computer. Puts the patient at ease and I am very confident in his knowledge.

This was my first visit with him as my former neurosurgeon had retired. He took the time to listen to me as to where the pain was coming from and what I was feeling down my leg. As a patient with two former back surgeries, I was concerned. He explained everything in detail and I felt totally confident in his diagnosis.I would highly recommend him to anyone… after all, he was an actuary so you know he is brilliant with an analytical mind!

Dr. Ostergard was recommended to us by a friend who is a trauma surgeon after I had been diagnosed with a brain tumor. The initial consult went so well. Dr. Ostergard made us feel very comfortable. He is very personable and easy to talk to. He and his staff went above and beyond to make sure that we knew we could call at any time and ask any questions before surgery.

They took time to explain everything well. They were kind and caring. Very knowledgeable about my condition and my history.

Dr. Ostergard Is my surgery for my Neck and Back surgery. I am pleased with the results.I have no pain in my arms or my neck or shoulders. I am going to the gym and I work out when I can and my mobility has improved 75% so far. It hasn't been a year yet. I was left with numb toes after the 10 day ride and wanted answers after the symptoms continued to linger after a few months; I was so happy to meet with Dr. Ostergard, especially after finding out that he’s a fellow cyclist! An MRI is on order and I have full confidence that I’ll be ready for my next ride to New Orleans next Spring!

Met with Dr. Ostergard to discuss issues and pain with both my neck and lower back. He patiently listened to all my symptoms and concerns and worked with me to come up with the best solution to address the entire issue. He removed a tumor from my brain. Everything about the surgery and follow-up was great. He is confident, relaxed, friendly, and of course skilled.

I was having lower back problem and came here in need of help. I seen Dr. Ostergard, he moves fast. But he was able to offer a solution so I was appreciative of that. Very friendly doctor and personable.

Dr. Ostergard is a compassionate, knowledgeable and caring surgeon. He has a great personality. During my initial office visit I had a list of questions from my husband and adult children. He took the time to answer each question. Two weeks later when a second surgery was required because of a hematoma, my family and I weren't anxious because he was the surgeon. He's great.

I want to make something very clear, I have 2 rare brain conditions, and after seeing so many people and leaving duke being told the worst news that I could have received, I wanted another opinion and dr ostergard was that opinion, he came in with confidence with cool socks and a great personality, seems very very smart and slightly nerdy, and I loved it, he made my rare conditions seem not so abnormal, and just reassured me with great confidence that I will not be needing surgery and that this is a condition that is bad but not that bad right now, and that it may not even get worse, he understood my anxiety and made me feel like he cared. He talked to me like a fried but a knowledgeable friend, like an approach that Jesus would use, this dude is great, he did not cake what could happen but he approached it in a manner that made life seem not so bad, and really it made my day. I almost cried in his office because he’s just amazing, he really cares and really is knowledgeable.
