Best Doctor
It was 1991 when we first met Dr. Rubio at CHKD when my son, Tyler was diagnosed with CF. I immediately knew we were in great hands. Tyler is now a healthy 36 and I contribute that to the knowledge that was given to us by Dr. Rubio. He gave me some advice that I carried with me through Tyler growing up and dealing with CF. We were heart broken when he decided to leave CHKD but will always be grateful for his caring soul.

Absolute Angel to Us
It was 1994, and my 4 year old daughter had the flesh eating bacteria in her system and was in septic shock. Dr. Rubio, who was at CHKD a the time, knew immediately what was wrong with her and after a chest tube, a 10 day stay in PICU and intravenous antibiotics, she survived something I wasn't sure she would get through. She is now 34 years old and one of the happiest, kindest souls ever! I am forever thankful. He is still a hero to all of us! So awesome to see he is still in practice!

Dr. Rubio was the only doctor (after several my son and I visited) who found out what was wrong with my son, after almost two months of not knowing what was paínful in my son’s body (my baby was only 12 months when he got sick) Dr. Rubio saw him and inmediately knew what to do. Thanks to him now my son is 10 years old and healthy. My son had osteomyelitis of the spine.
