Master at his craft
No nonsense surgeon who actually fixes problems instead of treating symptoms. Upfront and direct, yet courteous and considerate. This doc knows what he's doing and he doesn't waste time doing it.

Unexpectedly good experience with a great surgeon
When I found out I needed surgery, I requested a local surgeon that I knew was very intelligent and had great bedside manner, only to find out she did nor perform colon surgeries. Alas, I took the referral to Dr. Skelton, trusting his expertise with colon surgeries. While not giving off the warmest of fuzzies, (surgeons, am I right?), he really put a lot of thought into planning the surgery in a way to not only accomplish the main goal of safely removing a mass, but also to minimize post-operative pain. I was really impressed with the preop protocol the nurses say is unique to Dr. Skelton, while efforts continue while on the O.R. table by using robotic techniques to minimize tissue damage, using long-acting local type anesthetic prior to waking up in pain, and a protocol with anti-inflammatory agents to minimize the need for narcotics after waking up. He's shown to be very responsive for after hour needs to help keep you out of the E.R. if it can be avoided. 100% recommend.

Dr. Skelton allowed as much time as needed to answered all my questions during my office visits. He made me feel at ease and I had no concerns going into colon surgery. Surgery went well and recovery was quick. I called the office with questions after my surgery and he returned my call the same day. Dr. Skelton saved my life.

I would recommend Dr Thomas Skelton to anyone. He was knowledgeable & experienced with the procedure I had done. He took his time and and answered ALL my questions putting my mind at ease. I wish I had found him sooner. It was quick recovery time. This procedure made a serious improvement in my life. I wish all doctors treated their patients with the expertise and respect that he and his assistant/nurse showed me. We are very blessed to have him in this area.

Horrible!!! Do not trust your loved one’s to this doctor!! My father had surgery in 2016 with Dr Skelton then again in July of this year. He said it would be a simple procedure and he would be out in about 10 days; well he never got out, he suffered for almost 6 months being moved from facility to facility and when I called Dr Skelton’s office he had no idea my dad was still hospitalized!! So you just do surgery and then wash your hands?? My dad suffered for 6 months and died and this doctor never even checked on him!! I called to see if he could come see him and nothing!! My dad would still be here if he didn’t have that surgery and if he wasn’t strong enough to tolerate it then Dr Skelton should have said so. I don’t know how he sleeps at night.

Fabulous physician. Dr. Skelton made us comfortable about discussing a treatment plan for a delicate situation. He suggested the most conservative procedures first and provided it with great proficiency beginning that first day in his office-and it worked. Feeling relieved and would highly recommend him to everyone. Kind, knowledgeable, can do attitude plus a great sense of humor-can’t beat that combination in a physician! Thanks Doc! Dedra Scow

Cannot say enough about this MD...professional, personable, takes his time and actually listens to what the patient is saying. Dr. Skelton did a colon resection and a port implant, both times was impressed by the high quality of his work. Most of all, to me at least, is that he gives you straight answers....I value the truth and knowing all the option and you just don't get that kind of honesty from many MD's...Highest recommendation!! Dr. Skelton is a highly qualified, approachable and thorough surgeon. Before surgery he explained the procedure including risks and all possible outcomes. Post-op he saw me daily in the hospital; he was vigilent about my progress and answered all my questions. I always felt his genuine concern for me and my healing. The office staff is competent and friendly. I would confidently recommend Dr. Skelton to my family and friends.

Dr. Skelton is very, very personable. He sat down at the hospital with our family and went over my son's colonoscopy results. I haven't had a surgeon do that, so I was so appreciative. He is very knowledgeable and I was thankful that he suggested a colonoscopy after his findings!! Great, great doctor. Thank you so much!!

Dr. Skelton took the time to explain my surgery and made me comfortable with his excellent bedside manner. We had to wait several minutes because he was running behind, but once he came in, he wasn't rushed and took good care of me. The staff is friendly and has been helpful so far. I was able to get in pretty quick too.

Dr. Skelton is knowledgeable, professional, and patient friendly. You will never feel rushed, he will take the time needed to discuss options and any concerns you may have. Rashina, Dr. Skelton's MA and Dr. Skelton were always very responsive to my needs leading up to the surgery, and after surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Skelton and his team. I would not hesitate to use them in the future should the need arise.
