Dr. Thomas Slabaugh Jr, MD

I have had an annual visit scheduled for over 6 months. I have been a patient for approximately 10 years. Last Friday, I received an email confirmation of the appointment, which I replied to. Yesterday, I received an email asking me to check in. I did.I live 2.5 hours from the doctor office. I took off a days work and scheduled a couple other things for the day.At 8:30 I received a phone call from his office saying that the doctor had a a family emergency, and had to leave the office at 3:30 today. My appointment was for 4:00. I asked if there was anyway that I could be worked in because of the work situation and travel distance. I was told he was completely booked up and could not see me.They then gave me an opportunity to see his PA at 11:00 am - remember, I am 2.5 hours away - or the PA could see me in another town which I have never been to, because she was leaving the office at noon to go to the other office.I just think this was very unprofessional and selfish.

My husband goes there, I have always liked Dr. Slabaugh Jr. He is a wonderful doctor, My deal is some of the office staff. I work in healthcare myself, the way I was dealt with when I called concerning my husbands test results were very unprofessional. To put the icing on the cake, he had an appt for one week out and they change it for 2 mths out, and was not going to give him the test results until then... When confronted about this, the person on the phone was mumbling (like no one could hear what she was saying) She was frustrated maybe, but this is something serious. A life or death situation that you are throwing your tantrum to the patient and his wife (which is the ER contact) Lex. Clinic you can do better. My husbands Dr Office even called, and they were rude to them. When a person answers the phone at any business, they set the tone for the whole office. Customer Service and being kind go along way. It doesn't cost anything to be nice.

Dr Slabaugh was nice to work with and knowledgeable about what i needed. But, trying to get in touch with him after about refills and things is a nightmare. His office staff is rude and uncaring and frankly an atrocious pain to talk to, especially a woman named Tammy. I wouldn't recommend him just because of his staff. Much more courteous and professional options out there.

Very nice and knowledgeable Dr. Takes time to explain in detail his opinion and care for his patient and what he does.

Dr. Slabaugh Jr. is the BEST! So attentive and a brilliant Urologist. Excellent Staff!??

Feb 15, 2023 Showed up 1/2 hour early for New Patient visit. 'checked-in" at registration desk. They asked me if I signed in online. My reply, "I think I did." Their reply, "It looks like you did." 15 mins after appt time (40 mins of waiting) I was called back (not too bad so far). Nurse had me give a urine sample, then took me to exam room. Looked at my chart and asked, "Are you a new patient?" I said, "yes." She then said you need to go back to front desk, and took me to front desk. I had to sit back down in waiting room and fill out new patient papers (the same info that was just given to my referring GP and that is on my online chart). Filled out the papers and took to registration desk. They said just sit down and they will call you back. after sitting for 30 more minutes, I went to the registration table and said, "I need to leave." They looked shocked. I told them if this is how they treat new patients, I don't want their "care" and stress.

He saved my husband’s life! Compassionate, thorough, and the leading expert in his field!

Dr. Slabaugh is nice enough and seems competent. Office staff is unpleasant and do not follow .I called three days to get information on a prescribed medication . May 2022

I’ve been a patient for several years. Dr Slaybaugh is a nice guy. He isn’t particularly thorough. He will try to fix what ails you. The office staff is extraordinarily terrible. They talk about patients while people in the waiting room can hear them. Their conversations are not positive. They never seem to be happy to be there. Just judging the office staff alone would be a 0. I truly go back to Dr Slaybaugh because I don’t want the hassle of changing providers. I would call his care satisfactory.

Dr. Slaybaugh is an excellent Dr. great bedside manner. Very friendly and helpful. I’ve been seeing him since 2015. I have urinary incontinence and other issues. I had tried many treatments including bladder suspension. Nothing helped. Dr. Slaybaugh implanted an interesting device to help my problems. It didn’t fix the issues but has probably fixed a good 75% or more. I would recommend him to everyone looking for bladder relief or any urinary issues. Heck just go check him out.

Scheduled an appointment for one location a few months out, Friday before appointment I received an automated call confirming my appointment showed up Monday for my appointment and he’s not working out of the previously agreed to location. Informed that I have to reschedule even though I had plenty of time to make it to the other location. I asked for the direct number to them so I could call and reschedule and the number is out of service. I took an entire day off because the only time they could get me in originally was 11am. Not sure who does their scheduling but he should fire them immediately. I will be looking for a new doctor.

Just wants to cut you. As a male in his mid-thirties... maybe check everything as to the problem, and not just so "cut" happy.

Absolutely would recommend Dr. Slabaugh Jr to anyone who needs a urologist and doesn't know who to trust or where to go. The office is very professional. Dr. Slabaugh takes his time and explains the situation at hand and answers all questions. During this very stressful time, we were able to find comfort in his confidence.
