Horrible experience
My father was disintegrating physically at the ICU. This doctor almost never showed his face at the patient’s room on the first day. On my father’s last day, Dr. Waddington exhibited very little professionalism during meetings with the family. When letting us know that the patient likely suffered a stroke, he seemed rather combative. At one point in the day he came in to bluntly tell us that my father would imminently die and as he left the room made a joke to my sister about her USC sweatshirt — was he unable to see that everyone was absolutely heartbroken? At the end, we had told the nurse (who was incredible) we don’t want to perform compressions on the patient, and he swaggered into the room and said, “we heard you want comfort care? What’s that?” Overall, on one of the most harrowing days of my family’s life, this doctor somehow managed to make it even worse.

Dr Waddington is now practicing at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA. I have been through a plethora of doctors for several years, chasing down a seemingly elusive diagnosis, he is my third pulmonologist. Dr Waddington has gone above and beyond that of ANY specialty physician I have yet to come across. On top of his spectacular bedside manner and genuine empathy for his patients, he is incredibly knowledgeble and well prepared to educate.
