Dr. Thorne Winter III, MD

I was a patient of Dr. Winter off and on from 1966 through 1979 as my primary doctor. I have never experienced the great care he gave me with any primary care doctor since then. In 1978 he diagnosed a gall bladder problem I had been suffer painful attacks from for 4 years. Most of that time I was living in California. He solved my problem in my first visit with him and a few minutes of discussion, ordering an upper GI and soon after recommended a wonderful surgeon who removed my gall bladder which contained numerous stones. I can’t locate him in Atlanta now so I have come to the conclusion he no longer has a practice in north Atlanta. I just wanted him and anyone who cares my thoughts that he was a very talented, caring , wonderful doctor. I’ve been away for 45 years , returning to Atlanta a year ago. I would so like to find another Dr. Winter!

He is an old-fashioned physician who takes great interest in the patient and demonstrates unexpected concern for the whole person. My experience is that his knowledge is considerable and he can diagnose problems before the use of all the tests that are so popular in medicine today. Younger physicians would do well to learn from his bedside manner in dealing with the concern of the patient.
