Not accountable and feel careless
The lab test results came out bad. There were 6 flags and one of them has critical warning. I expected to hear detail explanations from Dr. Byun and appropriate treatment. However, Dr. Byun simply said everything looks good to him and nothing to worry about. In addition, he said I can choose to have bone marrow test if I want. He didn't explain anything about the test results and rushed to finished the session. His attitude was really bad and it made feel very uncomfortable. The session lasted about 5 minutes. He seems very unprofessional and I feel like I wasted my last two months of my life.

I left the office after seeing Dr Byun yesterday and felt really hurt. Every question I asked he rushed answers and it felt like he didn’t care at all. My diagnosis of pancreatic cancer is grave but after I asked the question, I learned I’m at stage 3 so in my mind there is hope! But he didn’t give me any hope and spoke to me just like another one of his many patients. If I hadn’t come with my list of questions, I wouldn’t have received anything out of him. He is almost catatonic and without feeling. I’m making a switch as soon as possible.

My mother had breast cancer, and I have heard a good reputation for Dr. Byun, so I made an appointment. My mother had a TERRIBLE experience with the staff, especially the older staff who are working there. I was told that the staff was very rude, unprofessional, and condescending. She had a good conversation with Dr. Byun though. The Cancer Center should hire someone else, otherwise, people will not go there because of the older staff members. The staff at the desk is the first people patients see and talk to, and if their behavior is not professional, who would want to see the doctor? Patients would have the impression that the doctor will be the same behavior or attitude. I wish Dr. Byun has another location, so my mother does not have to see those staff anymore. She is very traumatized to go back.

Dr Byun is so caring and compassionate. He is also upfront with what can and cannot be done. He clearly laid out our choices and then made his recommendations. He answered all of our questions, and we never felt rushed. He is like this with each visit! You feel cared for by him. The general office staff; billing, scheduling, front office, needs to take a few lessons in manors, but I've seen worse. Ultimately I am not there for them, I am there for him.

Worst bedside manner. Very little sympathy. Not knowledgeable about latest treatments. Not sure why he is in this field. Would have been a great accountant.
