Dr. Timothy Shawl, MD

Dr. Shawl was the best Gyn I ever had. He saved my life twice. I first went to him in 2000 for a problem I was having and after examining me and some tests I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Uterine Cancer. He performed surgery for a total hysterectomy therefore, saving my life. He was always kind and a compassionate listener. Always available if I needed him. I continued to see him and 17 years later my cancer returned. I was referred to an oncologist and went through radiation and chemotherapy. He saved my life a second time. I am so sorry he is not practicing as he is the only Gynecologist I trust and would see. I hope you read these reviews as all of your patients love you as their doctor. God bless you, Dr. Shawl.

Dr Shawl was my physician for 25 years. He delivered both my daughters. I could and did tell him anything and he listened with compassion and care you cannot find anywhere anymore. He’s no longer in practice as most know but I hope he reads this. I loved him and his office staff. They felt like family and when he left, I mourned deeply. I have switched practices 3 xs since Dr Shawl and no one comes close. Dr Shawl, no matter what has happened you were always the best doctor I ever had. You are missed more than i can say.

Dr Shawl was my doctor for 20 years. He delivered all 3 of my children. He is the Best doctor. He has a gentle side to him and the best bed side manner. He knew how important it was for me to have him deliver my children and he made sure that he did. He was always there for me. He’s very easy to talk to. I miss him dearly. He also had excellent staff.

DR Shawl delivered two of my children he is the one who found my issue with endomertrosis and did several surgerys on me also if it wasnt for him i wouldnt have never had my daugther because of my problems he is one of the best drs i know he is gentle great bed side manner i was seeing him for 17 years when i was delivery my two kids he would come into delivery room with a bag of m&ms and a mountain due he made sure i felt no pain while in labor he was compassinate always listened I will always love him as a dr there will never be another gyn like him and his staff at he front was awsome his two collegues didnt have the passion and bed side manner that he did i actually would refuse to see anyone in the practice except Dr Shawl

Dr. Shawl is the BEST OB/GYN ever! He was my doctor for 32 yrs. He deliver my son. He delivered my grandson too! He also delivered a few of my friends children via me connecting them with him. He is very kind, informative, caring and funny. He has the best bedside manner that I have ever experienced. My prayers are with him always and I pray God gives him strength to get through! He will always get praises from me for being a very professional and well respected doctor.

Dr Shawl delivered my daughter and let me push when I stalled at 9cm. I specifically wanted a woman doctor for my delivery and switched last minute after laboring for 48 hrs to him. Dr Shawl was the only person at Penn who listened to me. I know it sounds odd but he legit had me laughing while I was pushing. He is an incredible doctor and human. I'm a (dog/cat) nurse and prescribe meds at work for my drs every day. If I mess up it ultimately falls on them. So while I have no knowledge of what happened with Dr Shawl I would say take with a grain of salt. People who aren't in the medical field can't understand how easy it is for something like this to happen. If I ever have a 2nd baby I would want Dr Shawl, and only Dr Shawl as my physician that day.

Dr. Shawl is, was, and will always by my OBGYN. He's informative, gentle, never rushes, and so laid back. The ladies at the front desk are polite, patient, and professional. I've been seeing him for over 20 years. Not sure if they make Drs like him any longer.

Dr Shawl has been my gynecologist for 24 years. He delivered both of my children and I know I could not have done it without him. He is one of the kindest people I have ever met. He has a way of keeping you calm in the most stressful of situations. He listens to the patient , which for women isn’t always a part of the deal.

Dr. Shawl was my GYN for over 20 years. He is an intelligent, skilled and compassionate physician. No matter what he is irreplaceable in my book. Wishing you the best Dr. Shawl.

Dr. Shawl recently delivered my daughter and I couldn’t be more happy with who I chose as a doctor. He comforted me through my tough birth with humor, kindness and reassurance. He also made sure my labor followed through with my birth plan as much as possible! I’m going to miss having him as a doctor until I choose to have another child. He is THE BEST. Dr. Shawl delivered all 3 of my boys back in the mid-1990s. They are all in their 20s now. Dr. Shawl still remains to be the best doctor I have ever had...genuinely caring and sincere. I still talk about him to this day!! Had I not left the area, I'd still be going to him. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could!!!

I wouldn't go to anyone else. We had a complicated pregnancy with a preterm delivery. Dr. Shawl was wonderful through everything and was dedicated to making sure my baby and I were healthy even with all of he obstacles thrown at us! Dr. Shawl NEVER rushed with us and made sure we had all of our questions answered.

Dr. Shawl is hands down the best doctor I've ever seen. I would recommend him to every pregnant women I encounter. I just had my baby on 2/18 at 36 weeks and he took great care of us..before during and after. I will absolutely miss him until I get to have another baby.

He's very polite and attentive, never rushes you and address all matters...I'm always in and out the office..definitely would refer him to friends and family.

Dr. Shawl is the most caring, compassionate, understanding & just overall outstanding OBGYN that I would ever even think of seeing. He delivered both of my children, 10 years apart, and remembered everything from the first birth. I would recommend him to any woman that is going to have a baby in the Philadelphia area.
