Dr. Todd Gould, MD

Dr. Gould is a nice guy, but he needs to educate and inform his patients. He spends the first ten minutes of every visit with his back to you, reading your history and issues from the computer screen. After waiting over an hour after my appointment time, it's a further waste of my time. He generally doesn't explain the diagnosis or prognosis in detail. You'll get vague references to a disease process, without using the exact terms, leaving you in the dark about the actual issue. You can ask all the questions you want, but he sends you home to Google it on your own-no literature, detailed information, etc. A diagnosis of glaucoma or ARMD is devastating, and patients need help understanding and coping with the next steps. You leave with next to no information, and follow-up attempts with his staff are even more frustrating. The MyChart area, as well, never contains detailed information in the summaries, nor are test results posted; very frustrating.

Excellent at what he does, thorough, explains the procedure for cataract removal, reassures patient before actual surgery, has "miracle" hands.

It's a scary one at first but the assurance and confidence he exudes, well it chases all that fear out the door.

Dr. Gould is an excellent eye surgeon as well as being on top of his game in the diagnostic field. Two days ago had some eye lid surgery, so far so good. Aside from his great personality traits and bedside manner, his support staff in the operating room had nothing but praise for his surgical skills as well as his ability to make support staff feel comfortable working with him.
