Dr. Todd Rankin, MD

Dr Rankin is very knowledgeable, he does not make you feel rushed and has empathy for his clients. In short he has all the qualities of a great psychiatrist. I highly recommend him.

Honestly, I am shocked by the patient rating for Dr. Rankin & I am immediately writing this. I first want to say that the Goyal Med is the best group of drs that my family has had in 20 years. From our 1st visit, he was more concerned about my backstory rather than skipping to the rx pad w/o regard for past info. He patiently listened to me explain the full picture from my pov & past history including prior rxs. Dr. Rankin truly cares about me, my progress & how it relates to relationships. He's called to go over blood test results, always has convenient appt slots & makes it easy to feel comfortable contacting him after hours. On top of feeling taken care of, he is up-to-date on medicines, side effects & doesn't prescribe medicines that conflict. From my perspective, I don't feel like I am navigating this alone & that is important in mental health. Please take bad reviews w/ a grain of salt as usually are written when angry. Thank you Dr. R & Goyal Med for all you do!

He's very nice, kind, patient and took his time with me. I was a bit scared it would be harder to empathize with me due to it being a virtual visit but he is so empathetic and understanding that it being virtual isn't a source of barrier. He asked me alot of questions and listened to them carefully & asked follow up questions based on what I said, didn't interrupt me and I felt he really listened and heard me instead of going down a check list. He would ask for clarifications, and explains why he asked the questions he did, so I would think harder. His feedback & questions just felt tailored to my answers, and he was just really nice and easy to talk. I felt comfortable with him & he didn't judge me at all. He has a lot of knowledge to share and answered all of my questions. I just really appreciated and felt lucky to chance upon him as my psychiatrist as I had never seen one before and was nervous/anxious, I happened to have found an awesome one it seems so far! So happy!

I have seen Dr. Rankin at the Kaiser facility in Falls Church, VA for several years now. I have never had any issues or problems with him. He is very organized and prompt to followup with prescription requests and emailed questions. Always on time. He is very patient, he listens to me, he answers my questions or concerns. He is proactive in suggesting things when needed but when he recognizes things are working he leaves them as is. I would describe him as a moderate prescriber and conventional medicine provider. These two traits are important to me.

Went to Dr.Rankin almost 2 years ago. My anxiety was out of control and I totally broke down in his office. Thankfully he listened to me and prescribed me Lexapro. My life has been a million times better since! I really appreciate the help!

Dr. Rankin doesn't care about his patients; he's too overbooked with appointments. Tried explaining to him my condition, but he isn't a good listener.. wouldn't trust him with a grain of salt

He has always answered my questions promptly and in a detailed manner. He is also attentive, takes his time, give good advice, and deals with the patient's needs very well.

Dr. Rankin is a neophyte. He fails to listen and unilaterally decided to take me on medication for 11 years and substitute a dangerous drug. He should not be practicing.

I thought he was smart, knowledgeable, and sensitive to my issues and needs. I had an excellent experience. I'm really happy I switched.

Dr. Rankin saw my daughter for 15 minutes and changed the diagnosis of the the doctor she had been seeing for years. Based on one 15 minute appointment he told her he would have to change her medicine too. He undid years of good work by her previous doctor in one short meeting. I would give 0 star rating if it was allowed.
