Right knee replacement
I've been a patient of Dr Ulmer quite a few years now. I've had bad knees quite a few years now, Ulmer and Bob have done amazing things to keep me going over the years, but I finally wore the right knee out, where I couldn't go on anymore and finally had to have a full knee replacement. I had a lot of blood clots 10 years prior from a procedure done by another physician, so this was my number one concern not to get any more blood clots again. Doctor Ulmer took a lot of precautions. It's been 11 days since the surgery and I'm getting along pretty good now, short of the stiffness and soreness that comes with such an invasive surgery. Dr Ulmer had replaced my mom's knee about 15 years ago and it went just as well, so I trust the doctor and his staff a great deal. Is surgical staff and the staff at Adventist Hospital treated me just like family very professional and caring. I highly recommend him.

Dr Ulmer performed my torn rotator cuff surgery at Portland Adventist Medical Center in October of 2019. From the very first visit, Dr Ulmer addressed my every concern with kindness, patience showing incredible skill and knowledge. I had no qualms before or after the surgery due to his gentle bedside manner. My confidence in his skills was absolute. The surgical experience, although very painful, was well worth the effort. Thank you, Dr Ulmer!

I highly recommend Dr. Ulmer. I was in an accident and his office called me back within hours of my initial call and squeezed me in for an appointment that same day. Over the next few weeks, Dr. Ulmer was extremely responsive. He returned my calls on the same day I left him a message. He answered all of my questions in a way that helped me understand what was happening. He is kind and a truly compassionate doctor. He's one of the best doctors I've ever seen.

It has been two weeks since I had partial knee replacement surgery by Dr. Ulmer. I wasn't looking forward to a surgery, but knew I was miserable with my knee the way it was, and since surgery I am walking better than before. It's amazing and I'm so happy! I now have a new lease on life thanks to Dr. Ulmer.

I saw Dr. Ulmer for my right shoulder surgery-while i had seen another doctor who wanted to give me a 6" incision Dr. Ulmer made 5 or 6 small incisions to repair torn rotar as wells as tendons hanging by a thread. I also had a hole in my shoulder so it was way worse than the MRI had showed. I was back at work in a week and its now just the 3 month mark and i am amazed how quickly i have healed. I would definately recommended Dr Ulmer for surgery to anyone.

Dr. Ulmer provides excellent care. Long ago I severely injured my shoulder and have just been working with it as best I could, I reinjured it at work and was treated under Workers Comp. Dr. Ulmer did a first-rate job repairing the damage. His office staff are great and handled WC with no trouble. I wasn't involved at all. Though it was a WC claim, Dr. Ulmer made it clear that his first priority is to the patient. I would recommend him to anyone who wants an excellent orthopedic surgeon.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Ulmer. He is very knowledgeable, kind, empathetic and professional He spent over an hour with me at my initial appointment, explaining to me what needed to be done to my shoulder, going over test result and answering every single question I had. I always felt comfortable and trusted his recommendations. I am so happy with my results! I actually found him by reading other reviews and contacted his office based off the excellent ratings he had by other patients!

I have not met nor been clinically evaluated by Dr. Ulmer. Today, I called their office to gather information for the insurance plans they accept, clinical specialties and appointment specifics. I didn't get past JANICE. She was curt and impolite. A medical provider's skill may be excellent, but a patient's first contact is with the provider's office staff. A big thumbs down to Dr. Todd Ulmer's office.

Dr. Ulmer, and his staff, are all very good at putting you at ease, especially when you are not feeling well already. I felt he took his time, listening to me, and my concerns; and offered his opinion for treatment options. He also went above and beyond, when addressing (and treating) a different issue when i was in the office for a different reason. He is very soft spoken and kind, and i would highly recommend him!
