Disappointing.
I should have trusted my instincts but I was desperate to help my son. Dr Hirota is a nice man, very hard to understand his accent. I have worked in medicine my adult life and I can not understand why anyone can charge upwards of 700.00 for a 45 min visit. My son has high functioning autism and someone told me about Dr Hirota.If you are an autism parent you try anything. We saw him every few months. I sat in on the end of a session and he couldn't have cared less about my son, he watched the clock, gave a RX and that was it. The things he was supposed to research and get back to my son about were never done. He was going to help him find a group to join too...nothing. After the last visit we decided no more. We found a wonderful psych close to home who decreased the meds, listens to my son and does what he says he is going to. I thought we were getting the gold standard. Don't let the name of the facility fool you.
