Excellent doctor
I've seen Dr. Goodbar for over 15 years. I have had a positive experience 100% of the time--he truly hears me and what I'm trying to say, he is compassionate and kind, and he has made some medication changes over the years that have literally saved my life and my relationships. I highly recommend him!

A family member has been a patient for 25 years. For the past week, he has been in serious trouble bordering on requiring hospitalization but we had to wait for an appointment. On the way to the appointment, he had a panic attack and had to pull over. He called and told them he'd be late. He showed up 15 minutes past his appointment and was told he would need to reschedule. He begged them to let him see the doctor and I spoke with them also. They said, "It's policy." They refused to ask Dr. Goodbar and sent him on his way. He's sitting in the parking lot, not even sure he can drive home. I've never been this angry with a doctor and if anything happens to him, this will be the mother of all lawsuits! You should be ashamed!

I’m in shock by some of the reviews for Dr. Goodbar! I’ve been going to him for over 4 years! He’s very understanding and listens to me. I don’t want a Doctor that wants to hear himself talk. He’s been great to me and for my condition. Yes the staff can be behind sometimes & maybe a little short, but I’m not there to see them. AAA+++ Dr.

I wish I could rate a ZERO!!! Absolutely HORRIBLE experience with this "doctor." I should have listened to the reviews. It doesn't seem like he is listening to you. COLD describes his personality best, for lack of a better word. When you are talking, he types away as he looks at you with a blank stare. I went into my appointment thinking I was going to come out feeling better, even hopeful. I left feeling worse, very angry. There was NO COMPASSION!!! No explanation for meds. Waste of time & $$!!

Treatment ok until about a year in. My son was suddenly drawn to heights and suicidal. I knew immed it was the Zoloft because he has a fear of heights. Dr Goodbar became irate and agitated when I wouldn't follow his recommendation to double, then triple the dosage and I instead explained that we were going to stop the Zoloft and requested a weaning schedule. After sev requests, he finally said to half the dosage the next day, then stop the day after. Would've likely killed my son. Be careful.

I went for my first time today and the front desk was extremely nice, the dr. seemed kind and I feel like my treatment to start out was exactly what i need at this point. Great experience, especially since I was very nervous (first time to a psychiatrist)
