Dr. Townsend Smith III, MD

I had terrible sciatica from a synovial cyst I developed. Rather than surgery I opted for his shot. (Buckeye juice!) It's been a year and still no pain!!! Yay!!!! I cannot praise this doctor enough! His patience, skill and knowledge were amazing!!

I've been seeing Dr. Smith for about a decade now I think. Both he and all of his staff are caring, thorough, and professional. I just see Dr. Smith for trigger point injections in my neck, but it's really like magic. When I go in, I'm always hurting, but I know once he gives me those shots that in about 3-4 days, my pain is going to be nearly eliminated. He definitely wins the "cool" award from me. He's very friendly and likeable, and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to treating pain. I only have one complain, but it's true of EVERY pain doctor, not just Dr. Smith. When I was taking opiates, there were conversations I wanted to have with him that never occurred because of the fear that he would take the opiates away. Opiates are very addictive, and I am SO happy to be free of them. I just wish I could have had a better conversation with Dr. Smith WITHOUT the fear of losing my meds. It's something that a lot of people wish though. Other than that, zero complaints!!

He's great with people, makes you feel comfortable and at ease. He's very attentive to your needs.

Doc Smith is the best! I've been a patient for decades. He keeps me mobile. His staff are absolutely outstanding, as well! Insurance companies, unfortunately, rule the world when it comes to prescriptions. Lloyd & M.T., especially, have helped me work with Aetna when they need more information before they'll authorize my meds. Everyone is very friendly & goes the extra mile to help me.

just now Dr. Smith and his staff are seriously amazing. I was seen in his clinic while admitted for back issues. For one they went so far out of their way to get my insurance to approve epidural injections then stayed late to be able to do them. I have anxiety and worked myself up way too much and him and his entire staff went so far out of their way to ease my mind and make me not only comfortable but laugh as well. Everything was explained so thoroughly to me and was continuously reassured that everything was my choice.. I genuinely enjoyed being aroud all of the staff and appreciate them treating me as a person and i feel like they actually cared about me as a person. If you've ever been to his clinic You'll understand that you have no choice but to leave there a buckeye fan. Just having injections yesterday I cant say if theyre helping yet but I really was so touched by him and his staff and will be forever greatful for their kindness. If I need future things I will look forward to

I can’t say enough about the care and compassion that I receive. I have severe leg and foot pain from a problem in my spine. They really know how to treat my condition, pain and all around good health is their concern.

He is an excellent Doctor and an all around good person. Legitimately cares about his patients.

I can say Dr Smith and his staff has done a really good job they look out for there patience. He is a wonderful person and he has a heart of gold. Dr Smith and his staff are amazing. I pray that my insurance will keep him listed always in forevery. But its hard to say. Because they change so much we just never know. He will pray with you to get you thru what ever situation is going on at that time. Dr Townsend keep doing what you doing God has brought you a mighty long way. I been with you for 8 to 10 years and I love you like a brother. I have cried on your shoulders and you have given me some very strong encouraging words. You and your staff keep doing a fabulous job.

The doctor is great but his billing staff are morons. They keep sending me bills for doctor's services. I call them and they say they submitted the claims to insurance, but when I call the insurance, the insurance tells me they have not received claims. The billing staff will not verify insurance info with me to see if they have the right insurance info. I am seriously thinking about not going back to this doctor because of the issues I am having with the billing staff.

Dr. Smith is the most caring pain management doctor I can imagine. He and his staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend him to anyone suffering with pain.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr Smith and his staff. They are all amazing people who do such a fabulous job. Due to insurance changes the past two years I had to see other pain specialists. It was horrible. They were rude, and didn't care. Dr Smith makes the treatment so simple and easy and combined with the staff for me it's actually enjoyable. Charity

This doctor over books on appointments. Also was told that doctor is also doing rounds at the hospital. In my opinion do rounds before your scheduled appointments or after don't make patients wait for you. We are important too!
