Very knowledgeable and caring
She explained in detail how she could help me and drew pictures to help. When I used the patient portal to ask a question, she called me to reassure me and answered all my questions. Her Nurse Practitioner is a jewel.

Rude condescending

I had bladder prolapse surgery. I had a good experience and am well pleased. She explained the procedure before surgery both in her office and at the hospital. She even took time to draw pictures to make it easier to understand the procedure. I would recommend her to any of my friends or family who had the same problem. My family was impressed with how she communicated with them since my surgery was during the Covid scare and no one was allowed to be at the hospital with me. One hospital had canceled my surgery saying it was nonessential and she immediately rescheduled at another hospital saying it was essential due to the fact my bladder had prolapsed out of my pelvic area and was extending between my legs. She gets 10 stars from me for the way she handled my case.

Dangerous! Horrible experience. First surgery, she was MIA and finally arrived 3 HOURS LATE. Surgery was extensive, no explanations. Had a failed medical device, complained about pain and was treated like a sissy (it was tearing ligaments in my pelvis every time I moved). Had to go under two more times to 'fix' problems. She cut through 3 layers of muscle but told my husband she just 'made everything pretty'. Didn't find out the extent until post op with the PA. Developed abcesses and finally had to be treated by my GP after being blown off. Seriously, go ANYWHERE else!

I am 68 and have dealt with frequent UTI’s for years and incontinence. She listened and put me on a successful treatment plan which cured my UTI’s! Also I did a specialized bladder physical therapy through her office that absolutely cured my incontinence! No surgeries!!!Yippee!

I was given an injection for urinary incontinence in my urethra shincter, after the operating room, I never saw her, only her PA's. Called about the trace blood in my urine and was told it couldn't be caused by the injection, but didn't give explaination why the blood was there in my urine. I won't recommend her to anyone.

This physician is AWFUL. She spoke to me while I was on the toilet and didn't bother to provide any privacy while I was exposed, both on the toilet and during a pelvic exam. She told me she would order tests and a follow up appointment and then didn't. I have called her office SEVERAL times to have her order the tests and follow up appointment and her office hasn't called me back once. Pertaining to my urinary retention, Dr Cannon-Smith is apparently okay with my bladder rupturing. STAY AWAY.

Dr Cannon-Smith failed at 3 surgeries on my fistula. I finally got fixed with another surgeon in Dallas. I had to have complete revision. I was not confident or at ease with any attempt or any explanation. I canceled the 4th surgery at the midnite hour.

My review is more for office than doctor herself, which I know she has some control over. I was referred her. An appointment was made 3 months out . 1 day before appointment I get a post card in mail saying my appointment had been canceled because of schedule conflicts. I never received any phone contact from office from anyone about this. I called a week later and was told they could see me in December. This is unacceptable office etiquette. I told them never mind.

I was referred to Dr. Cannon-Smith from another Urologist due to a complicated Fistula after my hysterectomy. SHE FIXED ME! I appreciate they way I felt she was by my side through the whole process. She always took time with me to answer all my questions. The office staff/nurses/PA (Amanda) are ALWAYS so friendly to me and make me feel welcome. I cried when I thought I had to lose her as my Dr because of insurance changing. I would have paid out of pocket somehow to keep her.
