Excellent surgeon
Dr. Carlyle was my surgeon for my anterior hip replacement. I have had excellent care from him and the surgery couldn't have gone any better. He showed great care and compassion and answered my questions before and after the surgery. His office staff is very helpful and friendly. They went above and beyond to ensure my surgery and overall treatment plan went smoothly. Highly recommend this surgeon and this office.

Horrible office manager
I had a shoulder surgery several months ago. I was told to do more physical therapy. I have done another Twp months of therapy and my shoulder is worse. Barely able to sleep. I called the office and office manager has no compassion for someone in pain and simply said they were booked and would let me know if there was an opening? I called the surgeon office due to extreme pain from a surgery he provided and get pushed to the side. Wow

I'd give no stars if allowed!
He disregarded my complaints after surgery. Was arrogant and rude when I called his after hours number because I was in extreme pain. I went to ER on my own after leaving his office because he said he didn't see anything wrong. I was unable to bear weight on my knee. Ended up needing 2 surgeries from a different doctor due to a raging infection down to my bone. Left hospital with a wound vac. ER doc said I was lucky it didn't turn septic.

Dr. Carlyle did bilateral total hip replacement a little over a year ago. I feel great. It's as if I haven't had any hip replacement. My gait is strong and steady. My incisions as so small you can't hardly see them. Thank you Dr. Carlyle for giving me my life back.

Dr. Carlyle was great! I saw him 2 times in the past week for 2 different issues that I was having. The first was my elbow. Urgent care had X-rayed and told me it was fractured and I had to see Ortho. Dr. Carlyle re-xrayed and no fracture! The second time was for ongoing knee issue that I had been having for years. Saw him today and he immediately x-rayed, drained the fluid/injected steroid. Then he hand wrote the next steps for me, as I requested, because I knew that I wouldn’t remember everything. He did it, hand written! What doctor does that anymore? He took lots of time with me and explained it in layman terms. His nurse and reception gals are very sweet. I highly recommend him!!

After visiting Dr. Carlyle, I feel incredibly fortunate to have chosen him. First off, his clinic runs very efficiently and I was attended to within five minutes. X-rays followed five minutes later and Dr. Carlyle walked in five minutes after that. He spent at least 30 minutes explaining what he saw on the x-rays, describing my options, and answering questions in a straight forward manner. He treated both knees with cortisone injections which did their magic within 36 hours and provided a good deal of relief. Next off is a round of injections with Orthovisc which he said may provide some additional relief. When I decide on surgery it will definitely be with him. I loved his sense of humor too. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that as he was departing he inquired into my wife's hand which was immobilized in a wrist band. He checked some pressure points to ask where it hurt - even though the appointment was for me. I am so impressed with this doctor - as was my wife.

I agree 100% with others that Dr. Carlyle has horrible bedside manner! All I could think when I walked out of appt was what a jerk. I thought he must have just gotten out of bed. Acted sleepy , arrogant, condescending , not caring, not listening. I felt stupid for being there. I don’t doubt his competency as a Dr. It’s just his manner. I immediately made an appt with another Dr. Omg night and day! That Dr spent time with me, was pleasant and LISTENED, even the x-rays were more thorough.

When I first went to Dr. Carlyle, he told me there was no way my knee tear was a meniscus tear, and it was just normal wear and tear. I had to ask him for an MRI. Well, I went to another doctor today and turns out, it was a meniscus tear. Carlyle is incompetent and I’m not convinced he even cares about his patients.

Really fast visit; he gave another steroid injection in exactly the same place as my rheumatologist, only 5 days after she did the same injection and after I told him about this; he seemed to discount the ability of another physician. I really feel that this second injection, so close to the first, was too much.
